I have been on this site trying to help me find the best princess cut diamond in my price range and I think I have narrowed it down to one. Before I pull the trigger I just wanted to post it here to get some final words of advice, OR warning.

Im getting it from Bluenile. here are the links to the reports I used to make my judgement in buying this diamond.

http://www.bluenile.com/certs/22284...wJmxhYj1nY2FsJnNpemU9MTYwMCZjdXJyZW5jeT1VU0Qm

and

http://www.bluenile.com/certs/11377...wJmxhYj1naWEmc2l6ZT0xNjAwJmN1cnJlbmN5PVVTRCY=

It just seems these reports have less info than I have seen on others...

Any comments would be appriciated. My budget is 2000 for the diamond and ring.

Should I only trust diamonds with AGS reports?

How can I get that report where it shows how much "fire" the diamond has?

Is that something that can be requested for the orginal diamond I posted?

Nope. GIA and AGS are both reputable graders. I would trust AGS more with rounds as far as cut. GOG tends to have a lot of information, pictures of the actual stone, reports, ideal scope/aset images and the "report where it shows how much "fire" the diamond has". I don't believe you get anything more than the certificate from BN. You'd have to wait till you got it in person and if you hate it I believe you have 30 days to return it. I'm surprised you even found a report on any of their stones.

I'd look into this one from GOG:
http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/10005/

and this from WF:
http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-2781355.htm

I'd also look into these from JA who offer videos on all their stones and a 5% discount for PS members:

The original one you picked looks really nice, I would not hesitate to buy it save for the price. AGS and GIA are both fine, AGS has a cut grade for princesses and GIA doesn't. I only posted the AGS ones because they are significantly cheaper, and will be very well cut and perform well.

Thanks for the addditonal options and the support for the reports.

So in the GCAL report...

http://www.bluenile.com/certs/22284...wJmxhYj1nY2FsJnNpemU9MTYwMCZjdXJyZW5jeT1VU0Qm

Does the "optical light performance profile" picture matter? Its white and a little gray in certain areas...

Also, the actual pictue of the diamond has 4 black areas when you look at it (not in the exact center, but the middle of the diamond symetrically north, south, east and west) which concerns me... Any thoughts?

The diamond from WF looks good, its out of my price range though... It would be great to have a promo code to get it in my budget...

BUT i did notice that it doesn't meet these specs in the diamond grading chart for princess cuts.....

Can't judge fancies by numbers, they are a very rough guideline.

Exactly! With anything but rounds, you really have to judge on what the pictures look like (or what they look like in person and how they perform), and look at the ideal scope image (nearly all red is the best or all red), and the aset image which you want to see more reds and blues. The one from WF looks amazing. Since you're looking at stones online, those images are really going to help let you know which ones are the best. GOG also has them on their site for most of their stones and the ones from JA, you'll have to put on hold and request those images.

Thanks for this advice. Yea shopping online, I have to rely on numbers AND images.

I think the WF shows the best and that's all I got.

Is it possible to negotiate price with WF. That might be a dumb question.

I think they may offer a discount, but you'd have to call them....JA offers a 5% discount for PS members
