i'm looking at what i think to be a great cushion cut (1.11 GVVS2 61table/67 depth; 1.13 length-width) for $6k. is it discounted because of the depth?

in a word, no.

No. Probably light performance or dullness cause by poor faceting. Or it's just old stock and there is nothing wrong with it. Insufficient information provided to give you a definitive response.

is it returnable? The proof is in the eyes of the beholder, my friend.

Do you have anymore information? Have you seen the diamond in person? With the brief information you gave us I would say that 6k is pretty good for a 1.11ct GVVS2. However, for a cushion, pending facet pattern, I would probably go down to an eye clean SI, and bump up the carat weight. Cushions face up small so if you are looking for finger coverage I would go down in clarity for more mm.
