Would any of you choose this diamond? My parents took a picture of this. They said the stones looked great but I am worried of the bowtie effect. When I asked the dealer, before I saw the picture, if there was a noticeable bowtie effect, he said "there is no discernible bowtie effect".

I am I being over sensitive? What say you experts?

Thanks a lot!

Oh, and it's a 1.02ct, with .32 sides. D VS2, if it matters.

Picture is kinda blurry. Plus you need to see the stone from various angles to discern the bowtie. We need more pictures.

Much too blurry to make anything out with any certainty.

Point taken :). I have a buddy going by later. Ill have him send me some better pics.

Lambskin's right. You really can't tell anything from a single photo, & being a lover of ovals myself, I believe you actually need to see them in motion via video before you can make any decisions at all. If you check out some of the oval diamond comparison videos on YouTube (by Good old Gold for example but there are many others) where multiple stones are shown, side by side in a variety of environments, you'll see why we're saying that one picture isn't enough. You can do a quick search for "Diamondinfoman Ovals" on YouTube & a list of comparison videos will pop up. Here's a link to one of the videos they did for my recent oval purchase, just to give you an idea. Good luck, they are SO pretty!
