I have the chance to buy this stunning art deco bracelet. But it is significantly over budget and would prevent me from buying another hard-to-find dream piece. It also doesn't have any onyx or sapphires, which I had really wanted to have.

I'm so torn on what to do because it's one of the most beautiful bracelets I've ever seen, even though it doesn't have the colored stones I'm looking for. I was also hoping to find a deal, and this is decidedly not.

@Kim N, I don't think the link is working.

I wouldn’t go over budget for this. As gorgeous as it is, it would likely spend most of the time in a safe, unless your lifestyle involves a lot of formal events.

If wearability isn’t a concern, it’s still not worth going over budget on something that compromises your wish to have onyx or sapphires in it.

Your dream bracelet is still out there!

That’s pretty darn spectacular! But if it’s not what you had your heart set on, then it’s probably not the one for you. And as @JPie pointed out, it’s a little flashy for every day wear.

It is stunning but it is neither of the things you said you wanted ie the coloured stones or the deal.

That is breathtaking!

Sometimes the things we stumble across are nicer than the things we think we crave! My gem/jewelry "wish" list is mostly unfulfilled (!) but we've found a really cool thing or two.

I agree that it could be more "iconic" with colored-stone accents. But so many of those are glass or synthetic, seemingly, even in this high quality range.

The biggest concern is the "over-budget," in my book.

You could negotiate hard on it -- and risk losing it. Have you been watching it long?

I don't think you will ever find a "deal" on what you are describing -- an iconic Deco colored-stone/diamond bracelet. Everyone who looks at those wants them!

Yeah I echo what everyone else has already said. Sometimes we get side tracked because what we're looking for is so specific but buying this would not scratch the itch that you have. So I would pass on this...

I think it is gorgeous. I don't recall if you are looking for something to wear often, or a special piece, and obviously don't know your life style. If this is something you would wear ALOT, then going over budget by a significant amount is understandable. But if you aren't going to be able to wear it regularly, then I wouldn't go over budget. And you would have to decide if giving up what else you want is also worth it.

It is beautiful but I fear it is not really what you want. Keep looking.

Ditto this. I am in the “buy what you can wear every day all the time” camp, too, so even though this is indeed a STUNNING piece, for me I would be hard pressed to find occasions to wear such an elaborate and explicitly fancy piece. I think sapphires or onyx would tempter the fanciness to some degree, by breaking up the expanse of diamonds. Which is why I like that for an everyday piece.

But maybe you would wear this all the time! It sure it nice.

It’s stunning.
I’m a great believer in wearing your favourite pieces anytime and all the time.
Only softer gemstones go in the “occasional wear” category.
If you’re looking for an Art Deco piece with coloured gemstones, then that beauty isn’t it.
If it’s well over your budget and you aren’t desperate to own it, don’t.
One of the reasons why such Art deco bracelets are pricey is the intricate workmanship. With the coloured gemstones included you get to visually appreciate that beauty which I guess why that all diamonds bracelet is a bit harder to appreciate.

Thank you, everyone! I appreciate all your thoughtful responses.

Aside from bands, I own very few pieces of jewelry, so I wear them pretty much every day no matter the occasion, and I would not consider this too fancy to wear all the time.

But I think you all are right and I should wait for a dream piece with onyx or sapphires. Plus the over-budget thing wasn't sitting well with me.

I've looked at so many bracelets with colored stones, and none of the designs have really spoken to me the way this one's design has. I just need to be more patient and wait for one that fits all my criteria.

Although that piece is gorgeous your PERFECT piece will show up and make your heart flutter and skip a beat. Remember patience is a virtue! Good luck!
