Toronto Folks - upgrading diamond bought in Dundas square

I need some advice. We bought my diamond from 2004 from Toronto's Dundas square. Got the diamond appraised at European Jewellery in Eaton Centre as well as the finished engagement ring appraised at a small store in Markville Mall. Both appraisals said the diamond is 70 points, F colour, vvs1-vvs2 clarity, ideal cut. I think the estimated value was 14k in 2004 according to appraisals.

Flash forward to now, the husband said he's good with me upgrading my diamond and setting so we are planning for it. The original Dundas Square Jeweller no longer exists, and I don't have an official appraisal from GIA or AGS ( will double check but I think the Markham one was Gemscan). What is my best course of action? Should I get the diamond officially appraised? Should I go to a Jeweller with my appraisals and see how much they offer? Should I consign with GOG? I'd like to upgrade to roughly 1-1.5 carats and am flexible on clarity (si1 or better, eye clean) and colour H or up.

Forgot to mention the setting is already chosen..was able to upgrade to my current halo setting for $1600 by reusing my melee and upgrading from pave band to include halo...will ask them to reuse diamonds and move halo diamonds into crown of setting instead. So setting will be pave band and pave in crown holding diamond...RB will have no halo. Guessing they'll charge me 1600 again. Similar look to Victor Canera Evelyn. http://www.victorcanera.com/the-evelyn-pave-solitaire

Just checked appraisals. Engagement ring was done by "Gem Review Inc...Graduate Gemologists, Appraisers and Insurance Claims Specialists", by a guy with "G.G. GIA" in his title.. Approx $17k. Loose diamond appraised by European Jewllery (the store) by a guy with "G.G. GIA" in his title...at $14k. They were both done in 2004.
