wishinpink- We didn''t really make too many changes to the original design, which I believe was "meant" for an asscher. We asked Maytal to flatten out the "donut" that is supposed to be underneath the culet. Really, I think that might be the only modification. I know some people disapprove of "inspiration" designs that look so much like the designer''s original, but I had never seen anything like this design before, couldn''t find a Daniel K dealer in my area AND definitely could not afford his price point even if we could have found it! I love Maytal''s version & I love that it was handmade. Our intention is to pass this on as an heirloom piece.

I think the shank is about 1.8mm. It''s ridiculously thin & I love that- it feels sturdy & really makes the center stone the star of the show, as it should be!

Oh dear, you all know how to make a girl feel really good! I am so flattered. FI said we're supposed to get some professional quality pictures from Maytal any day now so I will definitely post those as soon as I have them. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to get my Macro on my camera to work. I really want to take LOTS more pictures.

wishinpink- The setting is platinum. I don't know the exact price of the setting, but I believe Maytal's quote was similar in price to a Ritani or Tacori setting, which is what we originally thought we wanted. Have you ever checked out Maytal's website? She is known for her handmade, antique quality pieces & her work is gorgeous.
