Coconut I remember PMing you about how beautiful your pup was. She was and will always be such a sweet, pretty dog and I am glad you had the time you had with her. My heart breaks over your story but it helps to know she is not suffering.

Joanna, I''m soooooo sorry about Athena. She looks like such a little sweetheart!! I understand completely about how easy it is to become so attached your pets. They truly are family members in little furry clothes, and it''s appropriate to feel accordingly sorrowful upon their loss. Embrace yourself in your happy memories, and know that she''s running around in puppy dog heaven right now doing the things she loves most!!!! Best of luck in dealing with your loss.

Coconut, I feel choked and am holding back tears here at work. My heart goes out to you. You are so brave and I really hope the funeral helps to put closure on the wonderful life that your gave Athena. Remember, you will meet again, it''s just a temporary absence. I would like to sincerely thank you everyone for their sympathy and kind sentiments.

Today, we buried Athena in the beautiful pet cemetary.
We got to kiss her good bye once more, and placed her collar, toys, sweaters with her.
My husband and I each wrote letters and placed them under her pillow too.
I was kind of hesitant about seeing her all prepped lying in a small coffin, but it was as if she had never died.
She laid peacefully on her side... like how she always sleeps when she''s happy and comfortable.
The weather was beautiful, and when we finally buried her, we could imagine her running around in the grassy meadow.

Once again I would like to say ""Thank you" from the bottom of my heart. Your encouragements have helped us bare the grief with greater love.
