Tucson 2013: A Consumer Perspective

It's okay I'm fine with it all :)

Hi Justin,

Did you pass by the Collector's edge booth?

Oh phooey, Dioptase! When I saw you had posted, I thought we'd get eye candy :((

It's all a blur now since I was rushed but I think I remember passing by. I did get any pictures unfortunately :Up_to_something:

Can I do that? Wouldn't it be considered as advertisement?

Justin: Maybe next year then!

Hmm, yeah, I don't know any more - everything is all blurred. I believe that if the stone is already sold, and we have requested your awesome pics, its allowed. I'll ask the mods, though

Okay, I just asked!

Dioptase, can you put your vendor info. in your profile? I like learning about new vendors, and it's not considered advertisement.

Minous: the stones aren't sold that's why I think it's against Pricescope's policy...

Next year I will definitely stop by!

"I will try my best but blue sapphire prices are not that easy to be extremely acurate with. So like you said these prices are "rough ideas"

3 Carat Blue Sapphire
Medium to Medium Dark Blue Tone
Strong Saturation
Eye Clean
Good Cut
Heat Treatment Only

In 2012 this stone would be in the range of $1250-$1800 per carat. Now its $1500-$2150 per carat.
Hope this helps. Again this is just my personal experience and others may have experienced different pricing."

I should also say that if the origin of the stone is Burma expect to pay a premium. Same goes for Kashmir but that's a given.

Dioptase, I've been to your site before, many times. I've been told you sell to the trade only. Is that true?

Try the Pueblo Gem show next year if you can (GJX being trade only). Oh yeah, and come around 5pm, that's when the chocolates and port wine appear on our booth

Pregcurious: Yes, Nomad's is a wholesale company.

Well, you are right. Ella was kind enough to reply and for future reference she said vendors can show stones that have already sold:

"only if it is for educational purposes, i.e., to show a certain color or type of inclusion, at the request of a user. Otherwise we do not allow it as vendors have taken advantage of it in the past to advertise for their items."

You were wise to ask, and I'm sorry I nearly led you down a rabbit hole, but your team's photography is like the best gem art :cheeky:

That said, did you see the discussion Chris started on what is "red?" Perhaps you have a contribution as to the pure reddest stone you've ever sold? That would be allowed as it is completely germane to the discussion at hand, as you'll see if you read the thread. We've collectively had a hard time finding such stones...Here is the thread:

Count me in! That sounds like a great time. Thank you for the invitation.

If I am not mistaken, Nomad will sell to the public at gem shows.

Thanks, guys.

Justin, can you give us the name of the vendor who had all the emeralds in your first pic? I'm looking for an emerald, and would like to buy in person at Intergem, but I don't know the name of any good emerald vendors that go to trade shows.

Pregcurious,

I am so sorry but I didn't take a business card. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the company. Sorry I can't help more. :blackeye:
