I am having a ring custom made for a 2.01 carat cushion cut diamond. The setting is going to have a halo and pave down the band as well. I am trying to decide on the type of pave that will be done. I would like the type that would give the ring the most sparkle. The type of pave that the goldsmith has suggested is similar to the one on this cartier ring:

and the pave on the Tiffany Soleste:

Is this v-cut pave? What is the difference between this and U-Cut Pave?

i am not sure for it.

I believe U-cut and V-Cut are basically the same. V-Cut is done for slightly larger diamonds. I believe Leon said I would have V-Cut on the shank and U-Cut on the gallery.

I prefer the simplicity of the first setting with a single halo.

This is v-cut

From the top, they look pretty much the same.
