Ultrasonic jewelry cleaners?

Are we still using ultrasonic jewelry cleaners? I had one like 15 years ago but I’m assuming the tech has changed lol I want to keep my diamonds sparkly again.

What brands are you all using??

I’ve got the Gem Oreo ultrasonic. I use it 5-6 times per week and I got mine in 2019. I really like it.

Rovsun, it has a heater. I use a plastic basket to mitigate the vibration.

I use a Digital Pro that has a heater. I've never used the heat function. I love ultrasonic cleaning! I do clean by hand, using the excellent Lavish cleaner, but then there comes a point when the baubles need to have a soak and fizz in the ultrasonic cleaner. So good!

The sonicator - put your glasses in it, you won't believe how well it works.

I just bought a cheapie off of Amazon but it works super well! And imo it does a WAY better job than I ever managed by hand! I love it!

I use an ultrasonic called a GT Sonic. It has a heater and a timer function. It goes up to 80 degrees C. I don't always put it up to that, sometimes I just use room-temperature water. However, when it is 80, the jewellery essentially steam dries and that's quite a nice feature.

Overall I really like it - it's a bit loud, but it does a very good job. My rings have pilot holes so I appreciate that it keeps them clean. I use it daily; the jeweller who made my rings said this would be fine. The appraiser I took my rings to warned me against doing this because the stones would become loose. To be honest I feel like if they're going to loosen up, the best place for that to happen would be in the ultrasonic where I would either see a stone rattling or if a stone came out, it would be caught by the machine.

It has the added bonus of cleaning my glasses amazingly too (at like 30 degrees; the frames would probably melt at 80!!! ).

same Dawn and a bit of ammonia.

I would be nervous the ammonia would strip away special added layers on the surface of the glasses? You haven't found that? I know it's great for grease.

Good point but my glasses have no coatings so I don't notice anything. I use a basket and low heat, 5 min.

I love this product - both in ultrasonic and just dumping a little in hot water in a cup and using a toothbrush

I also use it on my glasses @Lookinagain !

I think you actually recommended this before for the ultrasonic and purchased it based on that. I love it too! Thanks for recommending and I'll try it on my glasses now.

I have an inexpensive Magnasonic I purchased from Amazon. I rarely use it anymore after I’ve had stones fall out and more than one vender (Caysie being one) tell me they don’t like ultrasonics. I find that a regular Dawn and hot water soak with gentle brushing is enough. I also have a steamer but I hardly ever use that either.

I don’t know if this was clear or not, but I don’t run the glasses to the machine. I just dunk them in the solution.

Oh thank you for clarifying. I assumed you put them in the machine. I think I'll do what you do. My glasses are rimless and pretty fragile.

I ordered a Magnasonic Professional off of Amazon for $40 for my daughter, she love it and says it works great. Not high-dollar, but it works.

I too have a Magnasonic I bought off Amazon. Works great, but there are things I won't put in it. You just have to use good judgement.

They truly can loosen stones in settings, so you have to be careful. I stopped using mine because I clean my jewelry often, so I honestly don't need the ultrasonic power to clean it.

Ultrasonic jewelry cleaners?

I've never heard of ultrasonic jewelry.
Is that jewelry that, when rattled, makes sound that is too high in pitch for the human ear to hear?

And why would the resonant frequency of jewelry have anything to do with how it should be cleaned?
But then, maybe I think too much.
