My .30 ct solitaire. I've included a pic alone, and a pic with the wedding band, b/c I find when you choose an e-ring you don't always think about how it's going to look with the wedding band, but really when you think about it, that's how you'll mostly be wearing it.

I think the shot of my hand in the mirror provides an interesting perspective!

And a distance shot.

This is perfection on you. What size ring do you wear, if you don't mind me asking?

@DaintyG, you don't by any chance happen to know the dimensions of your diamond do you? The length and width of it? I'm looking into marquise cuts and trying to figure out which size would look good on my finger! Thanks

Here is my uncerted .48 marquise.

Oh what an absolutely awesome set :appl: :appl: :appl:

I love everything about it

Thank you very much.

OP, I love what you ended up with! Everyone's little sparklies are so lovely. I would love to see more!

daintyG do you happen to know the dimensions of your ring i.e. length and width? I'm looking at marquise cuts and wondering what size would look good on my finger (size 6.25). Thanks!

I love this thread! Such gorgeous rings!

I actually love this little stone in a bezel. Really highlights how pretty it is! Gives me ideas.

I don't know any specs on my marquise except that it's .48. It is uncerted. Sorry! But marquise stones are often sold in pawn shops. If I were you, I would try some on in jewelry stores or pawn shops to get an idea. See if you can find a Bailey Banks and Biddle. There is one in my local mall and it is a great place to try stuff on with no pressure. One corner has a section of cz solitaires sitting out in every shape and in .25 ct increments. It isn't behind a counter--you are free to help yourself and try them on!

This center is .44 -- about 4.8mm in diameter.

Hi DaintyG, I know this post is quite old but I was hoping you'll see this. Do you mind sharing the dimensions of your beautiful emerald? And do you know how big your pave diamonds are ie 1 or 2 pointers diamonds etc? I'm contemplating setting a very small stone the same way you did but my stone is really really tiny. I wasn't sure if pave would drown out my stone - which is a pear with dimensions of 3.87x2.27mm only.

Hi! I don't know how big my pave stones are. A jeweler measured the shank with digital calipers and it is 1.1 mm. The emerald cut diamond is 5.52x3.36mm. I think the proportions will probably look fine. However, if I were doing it again I'd get something wider to feel more secure.

I would love to see pictures of your pear, btw! I find little diamonds sweet and endearing.

Wow thanks for the prompt reply DaintyG! Sure I'll post the ring when I've finally gotten it done. Might take awhile though... I want it as a birthday gift to *drumrolls* myself  in May. I am purchasing the stone right now and thought I'll start sourcing for settings. Thanks for the helpful information! The dimensions help to put things into perspective for me. I know what you mean... having the ring dainty and small makes me nervous too. I think I wouldn't have noticed if the stone or (worse!) the whole ring dropped off altogether, since it's so light on the fingers. And delicate settings look like they can't stand up to the abuse of daily activity. But safety issues aside, the delicate setting looks beautiful on your hand and I'm inspired to have one too!

I totally understand and think it will be lovely. I love pears! And you're not alone here in giving yourself birthday bling! Your birthday is the perfect justification to treat yourself. I have some plans for my upcoming birthday, too. :naughty: Happy birthday to us, lol!

These rings are just perfect! Please add if you have an under .5ct diamond!

Is your mother still loving her ring, Niel? It looks so wonderful on her hand!

OMG! Your mom's ring is amazing. I LOVE it so much. Are they emeralds or tsavorites? Just gorgeous. One of my all time favs!

Who made it?

DK made it. They are emeralds. It's an heirloom stone from my mother's grandmother and my mom's birthstone. Emeralds are mine and my sisters birthstones. I think they are only half pointers each themselves shit their green is quite striking.

Keep coming back to this thread to admire these delicate beauties, hope to see more added!

There are some stunners in this thread!

I'm so glad this thread is here! Let's keep it going! I am finding the older I get, my taste is moving toward smaller diamonds with superb cut quality. This is a vintage 1980s era Jabel wrap set with a .25 center and 12 .015 melee diamonds for a total carat weight of .43. I purchased it about a year ago. The picture doesn't do its light display justice. I fall in love with it every time I look at it! Screenshot 2022-10-08 2.13.08 PM.png

One day a while back I got bored and calculated that the mode-average weight of all of the center diamonds in my rings is 0.5 ct.:lol::lol:

I have lost track of the exact weights but am pretty sure these middle stones are all under 0.55 ct. Ring finger is size 6.5 and middle/pointer/thumb is size 9.

I’ll even risk banishment by sneaking in two LGD:

Thanks for looking!

I had my original 0.39ct diamond from my solitaire engagement ring made in to a five stone for my 40th birthday. Now I have an anniversary three stone that I wear on the left, I’m thinking I will get it resized and wear it on my right hand. I wore it a little with my wedding band but I think I like it on it’s own.
