Unexpected earring designs

I'm sure more than a few of you are tired of me and my ruby/spinel posts. If so, I apologize.

Since I'm doing nothing but sitting at home this week, I have nothing but time to consider interesting jewelry designs. I have these new oval red spinel stones that I want to put into some creative and minorly blingy earrings. I don't want typical encrusted designs. Would anyone like to weigh in on something different?

One of my thoughts is the plain bezeled stones I initially wanted, but with the addition of three small "leaf" designs freely dangling on top. Maybe one with a couple of small melee embedded in it. Each small leaf would have a small hold on the top so it could be threaded above the stone. What do you think?

Oh, I LOVE THOSE!! Simple design but with just enough bling to make them dressy. Would it distract from the design that my stones are oval?

Here's another design I thought was nice. Imagine tiny bezel diamonds for the dangles instead.

My vote is for the ones Preg posted. Tiny diamond melee will make it more consistent with your ring.

I prefer the drop pears with the melees on the hoops. I think they'll look great with ovals too. And the best part? The super thin bezel with itty bitty prongs holding them.

I like the both two and three. The first one, although very pretty, looks like it has the potential to get tangled in hair. You could almost do small melee leaves dangling from the bottom instead of the gold balls.

I'm no help at all. I love them all and particularly Evelina's variety of earrings - gorgeous! If I had to choose from those....probably the second one. Beautiful, beautiful.

I really like the paved wire earrings. I think they fit my style while still being blingy enough for me. Since those are costume pieces, I'm going to have to put out quotes. Any suggestions?

Well there is always Daniel M. from Etsy. Isn't there someone on Etsy called Sarah Laurie that does lots of pave type work? And I bet Sally at Heart of Water could do it.
