Guys, I''m not certain that a lawyer can do anything for her. CC''s are private clubs and as such the by-laws are weird about stuff like that, especially since she is a member.

I''m not certain either.....but I think that as long as they executing a contract, which is a legal instrument, I believe they are bound to follow contract law.

I''m also fairly certain that the CC would be able to sue her for non-payment if she didn''t hold her end of the deal.

Consider how such clubs strive to avoid embarassments, I''d likely exert a bit of muscle in that vein.

My father is going back up today to meet with the owner-turns out my Dad has known him (in passing ways) for years. Played golf etc....He is meeting with him and will be calling me to let me know the final conclusion of this whole ordeal....

Did you have a first meeting with the board before this or has your father's meeting replaced that? I tried rereading what you wrote (as opposed to what other people wrote) and I am not sure you were going to be at a board meeting or if just your parents were. I am also not sure it was supposed to take place yesterday as I thought! I need some clarity if I am to worry about the appropriate things for you!

Ok ladies- Sorry for the confusion!! I wasn''t going to be able to attend the meeting (which was probably a good thing considering my fragile mental state from this whole thing

) My mother and father just called me back and told me that they had the meeting and the gentleman is going to work on this and is going to get back to us today- wether he has an answer or not. Hopefully we are going to get what we want...or I might come unglued.

I just saw this thread and it made me so upset for you!!

I think you have had a lot of good advice and I agree. My family belongs to a yacht club and I know that the board of directors can help you. I hope your dad is able to communicate the flippant attitude that this woman has given you. Bottom line is that your dues pay her salary, so she works for the members of the club. Also, you have a legal document that clearly states what is to be provided and for what cost. I would contact an attorney and have him/ her ready to go if the board members are not effective in fixing your problem.

Please keep us updated on what happens, and I am thinking good thoughts for you!

Sorry about the delay in the post: I had two softball games last night and didn''t get home until REALLY late...midnight ish-way past my bedtime! Anywho, my father had the meeting and the gentlemen called them last night and let them know that he did get us the whole room. The rest is still being worked on....lets hope it all goes as planned!

Hello! I am sorry about the delay- the weekend was busy busy busy!

Everything is well and I am finally sleeping well at night!

Thanks for all the support- you all are the best. I have my whole room, the food I chose, the DJ is going to be there at the correct time and the right day, and everything else is AWESOME!! I can''t wait- now that this is behind me, I could''t be happier!
