So a while ago I asked for advice about a sapphire engagement ring project i had: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/sapphire-e-ring-advice-needed.177902/.
Basically, I wanted a diamond "wave" design for the setting and a blue sapphire, evoking the sea surrounded by little waves. Both me and my girlfriend love the sea, for different reasons
I got lucky enough that Jeff White (http://www.whitesgems.com/) had a suitable rough for a small round sapphire and I finally chose MDC Diamonds in NY (http://mdcdiamonds.com/) for the setting, as their swirl wave design was higher quality AND the price was cheaper than everywhere else I looked at. Things took quite some time, mostly because Jeff is very popular (and for good reason!) and had a 2 months backlog. Everything went very smoothly with both Jeff and Moishy at MDC, and the ring is everything I hoped for
I'm glad I went with the more complicated route of doing business with 2 separate well-renowned entities instead of my first choices (which you can see in the first thread) - I got higher quality for cheaper!
Pic of the sapphire (in daylight):
Pic of the completed ring (not the best lighting, it looks much better in real life
):
Thanks for the help I got from you guys on this forum (either directly in my old thread or indirectly in many other threads)!
