Upgrade advice

Hello,

DH and I are looking into upgrading my e-ring. I am looking for a RB solitaire, but will do a platinum band for this ring.

My current ring is 0.7 carat Northern Spirit Canadian diamond, SI2/I1, Good/Very Good cut, Color G-H

Ring size is 4. I am trying to decide between 1.2/I/VG,ideal/SI2 vs. 1.5/J/VG,ideal/SI2. Budget for diamond is ~$7000.

I am fine with the SI2 clarity as I don't notice the inclusions in my ring, but am not sure if I will like the warmer J.

What would you choose? Where would you recommend online for reliability, shipping to Canada and best prices?

I could go for a higher quality 1 carat, but after trying on rings, I think it's not as much of a substantial difference from my current ring.

I would go to jewelry stores and see if the J is too warm for you. I've seen J's that look very white and beautiful, so that is what I would pick to stay in my budget and maximize size. Good luck with your search, be sure to post pics of whatever you choose.

Stick with GIA Excellent cut or AGS Ideal cut. You'd have to see J color outside of jewelry store lighting to see whether you like it.
