hi guys, thanks to price scope and the wonderful ladies/diamond pros on here, I found high performance diamond and will be getting a 1.53 ct g color vs2 diamond for the first step of my upgrade. They have a great great life time upgrade program so I plan to do another upgrade in 2 years for a bigger stone.

Here is the stone: https://www.hpdiamonds.com/en-us/diamonddetail/HPD7759

Now, as for settings, I’m debating between yellow gold or platinum, I always thought with yellow gold the diamond stands out more...

For setting, I like a simple style with no diamond on the band, I’m debating between these three styles:

I also really really like cflutist’s breathtaking piece symphony style but feel bad to copy it lol...

They are all pretty but if you definitely plan to upgrade in two years I would pick the first one because 1- it is probably the least expensive, 2 it is a classic design, and 3 the diamond would be easier to clean. Platinum or yellow gold is a personal choice but if you go with yellow gold, then I would pick a platinum head since you have a very nice G color.

The 2nd mounting has a very pretty head but the diamond would be more difficult to clean.

I would save the third mounting or HPD Symphonie for your near final or final upgrade. Just being practical here.

Thank you! That was my first choice as well... I was wondering if the classic setting sets the diamond slightly lower than the other cetheral design?

Have you tried them on? For me, a six prong Tiffany style just does not look good on my finger but I rock a cathedral

If you have HPD's custom bench make the ring, you can set it any height you want and the prong work will be superior. If you go with a stock setting such as Stuller, they come in low, medium, and high, but will not have the refined look and finish of the custom settings.

@cflutist gave you excellent advice there! The side profile of the Symphonie is beyond words!:love::love:
