<oops - malfunction! Here is the whole post below!>

Hi PS-ers

This forum is like my new addiction. I'm searching for a diamond and have come across 2 that i think i like.

Now the question is which is better? I will need to decide quickly as they are both on hold for a short time only in an online store. I would love you all forever if you'd give me your thoughts!

I'm basically tossing up whether to get the slightly larger stone that has only a 'good' symmetry and polish, or a slightly smaller stone with a 'very good' symmetry and 'excellent' polish. Essentially i would like to know whether you can tell the difference in polish and symmetry.
Second - whats the difference between a 3 out of 10 bow tie effect and a 4 out of 10? Will the 4 be noticeably more obvious?

Thank you in advance!!

I forgot the price of the smaller 2 carat stone - it is 700 dollars cheaper, at approximately $24,300.

So, to go for the cheaper stone with less carat weight and size, but better polish and symmetry but a slightly worse bow tie effect, or the more expensive, bigger stone with worse polish and symmetry?

The confusion is somewhat doing my head in :?

I am no expert, but i am sure others will chime in. What would help with fancy cuts though: is posting some pictures of the diamonds. Go to the online vendor and ask for them or if they are on their website, link it across or, if you don't want PS lurkers and there are many, to know who the vendors are; copy the pics and post them here.

That way, with the pictures, it will help with the numbers that you have posted.

ooo - ok - i will do that now! thanks for the tip. :appl:

I replied in your other thread but I'll say it here too: what's up with the odd LED spotlighting on diamond #1?

Gosh I don't know. Those were just the pics sent to me by the vendors.

anyone?

Why did you start another thread?

Can you get ASET images of these stones?

Sorry about the two thread - I just decided to put it all in the one thread with the pictures etc, instead of all the info spread out over a few posts.

I don't think I can get ASETs.

Do you have much experience with bow-ties? Is a 4 going to be very noticeable?
