I know many CSers generally do not stray to the other sections of PS, so I thought I'd give a heads up that I posted my cobalt blue spinel ring in the SMTB section. To prevent double posting, I will only be sharing the link here. Feel free to share your honest thoughts and opinions in that thread. I don't mind it if you don't like it at all.

It is amazing! The color intensity of the spinel is incredible, and the details of the ring are stunning.

Chrono....I want you to know that seeing this stone is the reason I just returned the Violet Shifting Spinel I just bought...LOL. I feel badly for the vendor, who gave me an excellent deal on a good stone (but...lets face it...it wasn't like THIS one) and made me realize I need to up my budget to get a better saturated stone.

Chrono, what a beauty! Makes me want another blue spinel but only if I can have a VC setting

That is such a beautiful setting for a beautiful gem. I like the top view especially.
Thanks for the background info on Van Craeynest.
Do you have a local jeweler that ordered the ring and then set your stone?
Did you preview the ring before ordering it?
That's the part that has me stumped, how specifically to put a gemstone together with a setting.

Ah...I wasn't going to write anything here but I can't be rude when my CS friends say such kind things about my ring, now can I?

Lisa, thanks for the compliment.

Chris, sorry to have "spoiled" the cc spinel for you. A blue spinel of this quality doesn't show up often nor easily. I hope you'll find one that you'll love as much as I do mine.

Wordie,
Excuses, excuses. :nono:

Imagardener, you can either contact a VC dealer or VC directly. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with VC by phone and I hear pricing could be better direct. Not sure if that's true or not though. You can either have VC set it (very expensive) or have your jeweller do so. If you visit an authorized VC representative, they will have settings you can try on.

What a gorgeous piece! The ring itself is lovely and romantic, but the wow factor is the stone itself for me! It looks so saturate for a spinel - where is it from geographically? My own hunt for a blue/purple spinel hasn't ended yet, you know... ;)

The word that often comes to my mind when I see something quite wonderful is "seriously?"; as in -how good does it get and wow.

That is what I though when I saw this. :appl: :appl: :appl:

Kim,
Spoken like a true coloured stone lover. :)) The spinel is fromTanzania although I don't know which particular area it was mined from.

Sonoma,
As always, you put a smile on my face with your words.

Amazing blue color, and a great choice for the setting!

The whole ring is lovely! Wear it in good health.

Thank you, IN and SXN. I didn't have the time over the weekend but tomorrow, I plan to take pictures of the VC band together with the diamond band.
