Variance in Faceted Girdles

In looking at Cushions I have seen that many have a big range of girdle thickness, and many are noted as faceted. Isn''t this range of gridle thickness sort of typical for a faceted girdle?

I inquire, because one merchant has told me to avoid stones with very thin to very thick girdles, but I think more than not, that this might be typical for faceted girdles.......I am thinking that they may be less informed than they should be about faceted girdles.

the issue is not just with faceted girdles but any of the finishes put on the girdle. as it is, there is not as much consistency in the girdles of fancy shapes as there is in that of rounds. it would be better to find a nice, even girdle, but you will have to search.
