I was married at the Flamingo on 4/12...we loved it so much, and really appreciated the value. Our ceremony cost 1/3 to a 1/5 of what it would have been at the other hotels, and the garden was stunning.
We had dinner for 12 at Rao''s in Caesar''s Palace after.
We thought a lot about having the wedding there, but I did not find the CP wedding chapel to be at all flexible. Sorta odd because Flamingo and CP are the same company, but different attitudes.

I should say we did not stay or eat at Flamingo, so I don''t know a lot about the rest of the place, but we loved the wedding chapel, which I learned about right here on Pricescope. I will also say the Flamingo website does not do the place justice, it is much prettier in person.

Hey suzy! I just checked out your blog. You guys make such a cute couple! I love your wedding, it looks so sweet and just right! Congrats! I am also thinking of getting married there!

We put out deposit down the other day, so it''s official, we''re getting married at Mandalay Bay next January. w00t!

Yay! Doesn''t it feel good to have it settled?

Just an FYI about a reception - heard back from the Flamingo and they can do the date we wanted and accomodate us at Voga. They gave us a choice of 3 different menus, each with a salad, choice of 3 entrees (for people to choose from when they are there - we don''t pick ahead of time) and creme brulee for dessert (we''re having a cake so that''s fine). The least expensive was $35 per person, then $45 and $52 for most expensive. Sounded reasonable to me. Choice of steak or pork chops or salmon etc. I compare it to my sister''s "budget" wedding a few months ago and they paid $25 for appetizers ONLY with no table service. I thought that was kinda crazy......

Also saw a place that has nice cakes for $150! I LOVE Las Vegas!

Thanks for the info!

That sounds fun! It''s inexpensive too! I was checking this out. http://www.702wedding.com/

It seems pretty reasonable. You get a package along with a 2 hour reception! I am emailing to check out what they include in their buffet. I think that our guest list will be 40.

HI am 99% sure I am going to vegas in March to look at venues. I was looking for something really cheap, but my mom heard good things about Mandalay Bay (someone from her work got married there, and actually got the same package as Freke), but anywayssssssssss.. My mom really likes the look of Mandalay Bay and said she would pay for that, plus the food (so why deny gifts??

). I am looking at the Opal Shores one though... but getting married next to the water fall looks sweet .. I would just rather spend the extra money on some bling

Freke did you manage to check it out in person??

Yeah we looked at it the day before he proposed actually. I''m working with Angela who is really nice and answers all of my stupid questions.

The website doesn''t really do justice to the chapels. There are three--Silver, Gold and Platinum, and Plat holds 100 people, with the other two holding only 50. They each have their own bride and groom dressing rooms, and they are held at different times. I think the Plat chapel is at the half hour, the Silver chapel is at the hour and the Gold is on the quarter hour. The Silver chapel is at the end of the hall, so you have to walk past the Gold chapel to get to it. And it has an L shaped aisle. It''s kind of odd, but I chose to have the Silver chapel because of the privacy factor.

The colors are much less stark in real life, I would say that the chairs are more of a gold-ish mushroom color than the white they look in the pictures. We took a tour when we went and got to see the Gold and Silver chapels as well as the waiting room/lobby area. She also gave us a brochure that details all of the packages and is very fancy schmancy.

Basically we chose it because it was kind of the middle of the road pricewise, and it was the only venue we found that was
a) modern-ish
b) not flowery or pink
c) the only one with a window as a backdrop
d) not in the middle of a casino

Really, there weren''t any other choices for what we were looking for.

If you have any questions, ask away!

Freke: I''m so glad to hear you went with the Platinum Skies! That''s the package we were looking at MB. I do love their chapel. If I could get married again with a different theme for my wedding, I''d totally do MB just to have it for the second time. I wonder what DH would think about that... "Honey, let''s get married again at MB! Theme change!" Probably wouldn''t go for that... :) (Also! I think I was in Vegas the same time as you got engaged! DH and I were there when it was snowing on an impromptu trip and I think you mentioned something about the snow in Vegas, too. Small world, eh?)

Myjoya: We got married at Paris and had about 55 people there. If you''re having a small wedding, I wouldn''t recommend Paris because their smaller chapel is kind of tacky, in my opinion. The bigger chapel has a guest list quota that has to be met in order to use it - it''s more traditional than Mandalay Bay, if that reference helps at all. Have you checked out MGM Grand? I think they have some nice, more inexpensive wedding packages, too.

The only thing I''d warn about some of the smaller chapels is their location. We had a car when we were in Vegas to get married and some of the smaller chapels are in shady parts of town and not locations I''d be very excited to exit the chapel to. Just a thought to keep in mind.

Also, how is this for funny? I was watching The Girl''s Next Door a few weeks ago when the girls go to Vegas for a friend''s wedding. The guy who we filled out our wedding license with was on the show! I started screaming for DH and saying, "Honey, the guy that kind of married us is on TV!!"

My friend got married at the Wynn, it was a very small intimate gathering, approx 20 people, and they LOVED IT.

Hey julabean!

Thx for the advice. I liked the Paris, but i didnt really care for their chapel. I have my eye on the MGM grand. The packages seem cool. Its funny that you mention the Girls next Door episode, I was watching it and thinking..OMG...is that how she is going to get married? I thought when I saw the bride putting on her makeup. No offense but I was like

her makeup was no so great! LOL..

Freke, Did you happen to look at Luxor or MGM at all?? I figured if I was going to Vegas I should at least check out a few...

Cake...I forgot to mention our Cake at CP was amazing.....it was so much nicer than the pictures and the flavors were incredible. They have a branch of Payard in there, and I wonder if they had a hand in it. It was the best cake I have ever tasted.
One other thing, if you are considering Flamingo, the site says paradise falls is for 8 people or less. We had 15...and we would have been fine with 25.

For a reception, I really like Pierro''s....we did Rao''s, which was pricey, but Pierro''s is a really pretty restaurant with great food.

I didn''t really check out Luxor (I don''t remember them having a chapel) and MGM....well I watched their wedding video, and that got them axed off the list almost immediately. The concept that my wedding could end up looking like something out of the 90s totally freaked me out.

I liked the grounds of Flamingo though. We were there at night so we could only look through the windows at the chapel, but the only thing we didn''t like about it was that EVERYTHING was pink. But I liked that the chapel was basically in the middle of the gardens...

Have you guys looked into makeup and hair at all?

Hmm all of these Vegas places are running together now! I know one place included a mani/pedi and hair and makeup in the package.
I''m getting my tix tonight for hopefully March 30th=April 3rd to look at places.

I''m a Vegas girl too. We had planned for May but have pushed things back to September. I''m looking to get a place booked in the next month so we can have an official date. We are thinking of doing one of the Flamingo outdoor locations or going with the Contessa yacht on Lake Las Vegas.

I''m not sure if this is the right thread to post this photo but I loved it and thought someone planning a Vegas wedding might like it too.

I found it here.
