We have a 2% Pricescope discount with an extra 3% discount for wire transfer, so most of our Pricescope clients get a full 5% discount.Date: 2/24/2010 1:34:35 AM

While discounts are good, I would urge you to look at the total value that is delivered. Many of the vendors here offer value that extends well beyond the net price. In my opinion, you might be better served by knowing who offers lifetime trade ups, what their inspection and return policies are and do they offer buy backs, etc. All of these things offer better value than just the base price.

+++++1 Wink!!!
Great answer.
We offer 3% PS discount which can be combined with a 5% wire discount. ON some items the PS discount would be 5%

Interesting point Ken,.
Wouldn''t you think that if there was a vendor engaging in unethical practices that between the readers, as well as admin, that would be picked up?
Wouldn''t that also result in threads complaining about the business practices?
I''ve seen cases of sellers that came here making outrageous claims that were instantly ''vetted'' by the readers.
My own personal feeling is that if a sellers was not above board, they would not last here very long- even just posting.
Totally agree. We get many referrals from PS'rs who recommend friends, family etc. and many do not mention PS unless of course we ask. Am I supposed to charge them more because they didn't say the magic word?Date: 2/24/2010 1:59:14 PM

We offer a 3% discount for payment via cash / wire transfer... I believe that most online vendors offer a discount for payment via cash / wire transfer. We began doing so in 1997 because we decided that customers which were not paying by credit card should not have to pay the merchant fees associated with credit card processing - I wish that I could get the same discount at the brick and mortar stores which I frequent (grocer, hardware, clothing, etc.)
We do not offer an additional discount to PS members, I believe in putting the best price forward to all customers from the beginning and don't see the point of marking something up an additional percent or two, just to mark it down the same percentage, all in the name of providing one group with a make believe 'member' discount - I realize that this might not be a popular opinion with PS members, but if you really think about it - our price structure is honest and transparent.
The grocery 'clubs' (Safeway, Fred Meyer, Albertsons, etc.) drive me nuts... Anybody who walks into the store can buy at our inflated, not so real price, but sign up as a member and we'll sell it to you for what it should cost to begin with... Sorry, I can't stomach it.
LOL! I always ask each client if they are Pricescopers and the very few that say they are not I tell them, "Now you are". They always ask why and I tell them becuase Pricescopers get a 5% wire transfer discount and I know you will want to visit there.Date: 2/24/2010 5:20:09 PM

What I find a comical is websites listing publicly all the prices. What person in their right mind is going to say ... uh yes, please charge me the higher wire price? If I''m missing something here please fill me in but the logic makes absolutely no sense to me.
