23 months is fine with me if during that time they treat him exactly the way he treated those poor dogs.
From what I heard this 23 month sentance if actually more than the normal sentance given... which was actually between 12-18 months. I believe this would be a good amount if indeed he is incarcerated for that amount of time. However, they do have the good-behavior rule, and he could probably be out in half the time... this would upset me. I also heard that he will be in a minimum security federal prison. Personally I don''t think he should be with high white-collar workers that make about as much as he did, and are in for tax fraud. Just my opinion though...Date: 12/10/2007 4:35:57 PM

If he serves it all and gets his a$$ whipped every day then ok. If he is treat like Martha Stewart and serves a couple of months then it is BS.
I hope he never plays ball again. In fact, I take that back...I hope he does play and I hope his peers treat him how he treated those poor dogs. I hope he gets dogpiled and horsecollars by my boy Roy Williams. I hope when his career ends he is hurt and dazed so when he is an old man he can feel the pain in his knees.
Digusting excuse for a human being, such a waste.
Sorry for all those I offend.

I predict that he will make it back to the NFL.

'Tis a pity.

Not offended at all. REALLY impressed though.
And wary (notetoself: don'tpissiwannaoff)
Haha... its ok, not many fans left to loose. LOL, jk. He left the team in a very destitute position, and they will more than likely have a new QB by the time he gets out.Date: 12/10/2007 5:42:40 PM

really? pete rose can''t get back into baseball and his crimes were purely financial. you really think not only the gambling but just the pure acts of animal cruelty won''t keep him forever out?
I would boycott the team that signed him if it happened

mrssalvo--- Yes, pete rose's was purely financial... but I believe he was assumed to have been betting on games he either played in or was managing at the time.
I agree wholeheartedly. I had a whole paragraph prepared to type here as a response but really nothing I can say will matter in the long run. I''m sickened by the whole thing and I hope that his situation helps enlighten some other ignorant fools who might still think this sort of treatment of animals is ok.Date: 12/11/2007 1:53:05 AM

I''d like to see him locked up in one of his own dog kennels and treated like the dog that he really is--no offence meant toward any actually dogs!!
Ditto! I love dogs to death, and have two of my own, but I have to say that the kind of hostility expressed towards Michael Vick for his crimes seems excessive- when there are soooo many other 'sickos' in the U.S who commit even more sickening crimes, but somehow noone has anything to say. I don't think it's just about dogs being vulnerable and not having a voice - what about those men who shoot their 4 and 5 year olds in the head or wipe out their entire families? Where's the outrage? Nobody seems consumed with those cases the way everyone seems consumed with the Michael Vick case. It just seems way out of proportion to me.Date: 12/12/2007 10:25:51 PM

I am amazed out the outrage people feel about Micheal Vic when professional athletes (Jason Kidd, Micheal Pittman and Brett Myers to name a few) commit terrible acts, including spousal abuse, drug and weapons charges, etc. and are simply a 5 second news story that is then forgotten. This is not to say that I don't think he should be punished, but I wish people would become as enraged about athletes, the people many children admire and emulate, hurting other humans as they are about dogs, and use their power, the almighty dollar, to stop supporting sports teams and leagues that allow such behaviors to go on with little more than a slap on the wrist.
