I think the outrage is sometimes in proporton to the "celebrity" of the perpetrator. OJ Simpson had the entire nation glued to their televisions, watching that mockery of a trial. We expect certain people in our society to be role models and, when they are not, our adulation can quickly turn to outrage. I won't go into the many horrendous things in this world that break my heart, but I certainly feel them. Vick knowingly involved himself in disgraceful behavior and is paying the price. I wish it would be the same for others who commit outrageous acts of violence.
