VS2 diamond owners, how often do you see the inclusions?

I've only seen my 2 teeny inclusions under 20x magnification. I have a VS 2 G color 1.66 carat diamond, bought 25 years ago for 7.8K in the diamond district of NYC.

Thanks Tekate, that's great to know! It's also very interesting to know how much a G VS2 1.66 carat cost then! Thanks for that piece of info :).

I have a VS2 stone and I can't even see the inclusions with my loupe. I think I'm more sensitive to color than I am to clarity. That 1.57 ct that Niel suggested is STUNNING :love:

Thanks Stargurl! Isn't it a great stone! A serious contender :love: !

If it is reserve it. Hate for someone to snatch it while deciding.

Have forwarded it to SO. He said he already reserved a few stones as well and will weigh up his options. Hope I'll get a nice suprise ;).

VS2s and SI1s depend largely upon the type of inclusions, either can be completely eyeclean or not eyeclean.

Here is another option (ask him if it is eyeclean) and if you buy a stone he will also give you a deal on a setting. His settings and pave work are stunning, better than anything here in Australia;

Alternatively Jogia Diamonds here in Australia is selling Ideal cut stones as well;

Hi arkie :wavey: ! I didnt know Victor has a website selling H&A stones. I saw his works here on PS and they are amazing, thought though that they are beyond my reach being in Australia as it seems he only works with local clients. Thanks for the heads up. I will ask SO to have a look at that stone!

I had a look at the Jogia website, I think I did look at it before I found Pricescope and found the website a little unfriendly (looking abit like an adult site :cheeky: ). Thanks for recommendation though :).

Oh thanks Daisy! I have never had my diamond graded by GIA, I have had appraisal(s) for insurance purposes and one appraisal said it had a shallow pavillion, so it could be worth much less than a ideal cut VS2 G color of today.. I would have to pop it out and send it to GIA.. since I am retiring soon I am thinking we can take a road trip to GIA in the next year and get it done while I wait.. while my stone my not be ideal cut of today back in the 80s it rocked (literally!) and I wouldn't trade it for the world because of sentimental reasons and my husband said I could go up to a 2 carat if I really want it.. but it's the stone I got for quitting smoking in 88! and my husband who made much much less then let me upgrade from a 1.01 oval D color (with the band of dark gray that I didn't notice when we bought it since back then COLOR ruled not cut :) again thank you for your comment(s).. I think if my cut is a good then to replacement it today might be 14K.. a little less than double but still astounding.. regards.

Added: my stone has never had any fisheye(?) effect that I have seen, I don't think I would have bought it since I upgraded due to the grey band in the oval cut (still like ovals :).. the reason WHY I also like this stone was because in my first marriage (ah yes the ORIGINAL engagement ring story that I won't bore you with.) was a BEAUTIFUL OEC diamond that was deep and my stone looked very angled compared to all my 21 year old gfs and I was embarrassed (speaking of shallow I guess I was then :) I wish I had not returned that stone.. 23 years after breakup (after I reset it into a gorgeous bezel setting that flattered the stone) my former MIL asked me to return it and I did.. it was my exs grandmother's, mother's and then mine) oh well :) if you read this far you are a gem! thanks again.

I have purchased items from Victor before, he makes it effortless, and he is always wonderful to deal with. He has recently started cutting H & A stones and they are TDF!!!!! And his settings especially the pave are pretty darn amazing as well. Email him he is always super friendly and very helpful.

The Jogia people will also help you if you email them and tell them what you are looking for, having said that for me its no contest, Victor's H & A stones are stunning!!!

Just purchased this 1.6 ideal cut vs2 I color round brilliant from BN for my gf I can't see anything even when I have it as close as I can haha

To me I don't care if its F or vs2 as long as I don't see anything that's all I want plus it graded a 1.9 and I got it for $10199 it does have strong fluorescence but I don't notice anything other than a cool blue look in real bright direct sun

Also I think it makes the stone look whiter

For $20g u should have no problem getting a great great stone!
