Waiting for medical results

Hey all.

Kinda on edge as I'm waiting on some medical results from my breast ultrasound (the girls are small but alas, dense).

I get testing every year, ultrasound or mammogram. Last year they took a second look with the mammogram and I was cleared for another year. I'm hoping that happens this year too! I have to wait about a week I'm told or the results.

My understanding is density doesn't increase my risk, but harder to see fully through the density.

Had my first ultrasound at 20 when the doc felt what he thought was a lump. 39 years ago. I used to buy new earrings when I got the all clear but stopped. I think this year calls for a new pair if I get the all clear.

Thinking of you @Begonia this period of waiting must be daunting. I hope and pray that you have good results.

While we wait, we can definitely look at earrings. It'll be a welcomed distraction. What kind of earrings are you thinking of?

Okay, I'm in!

Here's what I have.
The second is the graduated look I'll go for by having a second small gold hoop next to the first. It's not too exciting LOL, I'll just be ordering a smaller second set.

I also have very dense breasts so always get an ultrasound with my mammogram. My tests are next week. It can be nerve wracking. But hopefully you’ll get the all clear

I used to think I was lucky—density is not fatty tissue, so they were perkier!

My routine mammogram in 2020 revealed some Calcium deposit which could be an indication of something nasty developing.

A number of visits and a day surgery late to remove the deposit during Covid, I was given the all clear with no sign of cancer.

It was a big relief even though I was prepared for the worst.

Therefore, good luck with your result @Begonia !

For me, each subsequent annual mammogram since the removal of the Calcium deposit in 2020, I had been given the all clear, and shall now return to routine frequency of once every 3 years going forward.
