First of all I''d like to thank everyone for their input and help these last couple of months, especially to Gale who''s been there every step of the way.
The wake up proposal went off without a hitch. Brought my guitar into her room, played our song and gave her the fake "rough diamond". The whole while she thought it was part of her birthday which was the day before. I then lay down beside her and started talking in Portugeuese...this caught her way off guard. I got on one knee and asked her in Portugeuse to marry me. She said yes...the whole time looking into my eyes and not on the ring. It wasn''t until I took the ring out of the box that she looked at it...I guess she REALLY wanted to marry me! And might I add, she looked very beautiful first thing in the morning!
That''s the short form of the story. She was so excited and it was a great way to start our vacation. She didn''t expect me to propose at all, but boy was she happy. She couldn''t stop staring at her finger. We werent'' sure if we were gonig to take the ring with us, but she was so excited to show it off (me too!) we took it on our trip.
The Portuguese put it way over the top...her parents loved it, her sisters, and of course she did! I didn''t sleep the night before and we didn''t get to our resort until midnight so I was pretty tired, but still excited from the proposal. It still hasn''t sunk in and saying "fiancee" I''ll never get used to I don''t think.
So I think that''s it for now. I''ll be adding some hand pics pretty soon of the ring so don''t forget to check that thread out. I''ll also be posting my story of how I found the ring and my jeweller. Thanks agian to everyone for their help. Thanks PS members!
