Want to buy: Approx. 6.2mm round gemstone

Hi all!

I will likely be resetting my OEC soon and would like a gem for my fishtail mount. I need the gem to be round and between 6.1 and 6.3mm in diameter. My preference is for an umba or malaya garnet, or another red/purple/orange/salmon color family. If you have anything like that you might sell, please let me know!

Hi Dreamer! I have a purple ish stone (I want to say it is a spinel but have to double check) that I got from some random gem website for like 75 dollars last year from some random Thailand-based website. I have no idea if it is whatever it was advertised as, but it's pretty! It's not round, it is more of a cushion shape, but with very rounded corners and apps equal width and height (so like a rounded square). I was going to set it eventually, but it might be the right size (it's somewhere in the 6-under 7 mm range) for you...and at this point it is just sitting in a drawer... I am en route to the bahamas for wedding planning activities but if you think it could work I can measure it and send you pics next week. But if it is not what you are looking for then no worries!

Dreamer- I'm not sure if this is too small but I have a lovely red garnet cut by Barry that is 6mm (RB). It is a deep red with great flashes. I would sell for $40- as long as you continue to help me troll ebay for OMC's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have a 6.2 or possible 6.3 square (with clipped corners) ruby- treatment unknown for the same price.

I can't believe that I don't have at least one gem of that dimension. I just went through my list and thought that with all the rounds I have, there would be one that was 6.2mm. But alas, no... Good luck.

Thank you all for helping out! I am putting this search on hold until next week. I was planning to reset my 1ct OEC into my three stone mount but thought perhaps instead I would just get another OEC to use in the three stone. It should arrive next week and if it works, I won't reset the 1ct at all! But if the smaller stone is a no-go, I will be in touch! Thanks so much!!

I have a Dan Stair Malaya RB Garnet for sale in DB, at a really great price. Its a nice, bright garnet! It is 6.51mm though..maybe a little too big? Chris
