I'm hesitant, because the vendor originally had an all-orange strand, without ANY white opaque beads, for $700, but that's sold

I saw the original strand in RL and it was EXTRAORDINARY. I think the memory of the one that got away might taint my love of another one. It's second best . . .

Why is it when I have project money I can't find anything, but when my project piggy bank is empty, I see tons of stuff?!!

I should note that I'm not considering buying it from the linked vendor (never heard of them), but from a bead show vendor I met.

I think those are absolutely gorgeous. Personally, though, I think I'd prefer them in a graduated round not rondelle. That said, can you imagine how glam you'd look wearing that in low light?

Hold out for better ones
Dont be so eager to spend the money you have. Think of it as having already been spent on something truly exceptional that you just havent found yet. Just acceptable shouldnt be acceptable. then when you DO stumble on that really fine piece you will have funds for it already put away.

My sudden windfall is burning a hole in my pocket, but I guess I'll just have to line that pocket with asbestos and look some more.

The opal beads are lovely for sure and I wouldnt' be embarassed to be seen with you if you were wearing them. There's nothing worse than having money you WANT to spend and not being able to find something special. Definitely hold out for what really makes your heart sing though.

I think they're gorgeous, but I also think you're right to hold out for the ones you really love.

It's pretty but that's a lot of money involved; might be a good idea to hang tough and wait until the one you want shows up.
