I normally forget to celebrate my wedding anniversary. So this year I'd love to plan something. I'm wondering if anyone is willing to share their favourite anniversary dates/activities?

It's a milestone anniversary for us and we'll have 2 little kids to celebrate it with (so child friendly suggestions are especially welcome). All budget categories are welcome as we'll be willing to spend -- but it's not clear we'll have enough leave and paitience for elaborate travel ittinaries so I am especially happy to hear about your favourite memories of quality time/activities that bought you together as a family without needing an instagram worthy view (lol I'm also happy to browse instagram reels so all content is welcome)!

Anyone can spend money, so I'd write them a song that could melt a heart of stone.
If I wasn't musical, I'd put my love into a poem.

In other words give him or her the most precious thing that you have ... you.

Hmmm, my first idea of a very nice meal is out as formal dining options may not be suitable for young children.

For something long lasting, how about planting some trees in a suitable location, or suitable roses in big pots that can be taken with you should you decide to move house in the future?

Have a piece of commemorative furniture like a garden bench?

How about a holiday at a theme park with the family? Somewhere with child-minding facility so that you and your OH could go out for a quiet meal without the children?

Ooo, and definitely a piece of jewellery for yourself - it is a must! :lol-2:

Have fun and enjoy, and Happy Anniversary in advance!

DK :))

This might not be the forum for it but I recommend a nice piece of jewelry for a milestone anniversary.

It was not a milestone anniversary, and in fact it was not our anniversary. But on a previously planned family vacation with our college age sons, I surprised my husband with a wedding vow renewal on the beach. It was really special to share that with our kids. With little kids, they might love the idea of being flower girl or a ring bearer.

My boys are teens now but when they were younger they were wild animals so we always had the best time visiting nature reserves and parks with nice trails and usually there were playgrounds near them we could use too. We also enjoyed visiting beaches. We could just run around free.

But I usually try to escape my kids on anniversaries lol

Is 35 a milestone? This year is our 35th wedding anniversary, and 40 years we've been together.

I have a piece of jewelry in mind, if the hive is with me....

We got married at a local restaurant, so we eat there every year to celebrate. The bakery that did our cake is also just down the street, so I always pick up a piece to celebrate. Maybe someone locally does wedding cake by the slice? That would be low key but little kids would surely be into it!
