Hi. I have a 2 carat marquise engagement ring with 2 side baguettes. The stone is G color vvs2 clarity.
I would like to find a wedding band that flatterers the stone.
Nothing flashy.
Any ideas?

Perhaps an alternating marquise and round band?

A variation of an open band could be really fun, you could also go with a curved band in the style that fits your fancy.

I like all of your ideas. I guess I’ll have to see what’s out there. Do you think a thin platinum band with diamonds would be too much?

Are you not interested in doing the band made to fit around your stone that has the matching tapered baguette on each side?

Yay! I can help!
I have almost the same ring as yours and I wear it with 2 different bands.
One is an alternating baguette and round and the other is all baguettes.
My newer one is the all baguette band as the other one is too small for me as my fingers got fatter.
They both give off a slight bling but not as much as rounds all around.
Here are the two bands. I will look for the pix with the ring.. be right back.890050

Question,
does the wedding band sit flush?

What would that look like? I think I have an idea. Would have to be custom made?

Do you mind them not fitting together? Personally I have had that situation and the awkward separation is uncomfortable and annoying. Also can cause rings to rub against each other. Food for thought….

Hi! Glad I was helpful. I like the all baguette band the best too. It’s plain but yet it’s not.
The bands don’t sit flush at all but it doesn’t bother me. I rather like the separation. I have another set (yellow gold bezel set pear) and the band sit right next to each other but I like this “nonflush” look better. Just personal opinion. I had looked into V shaped bands but unless you have something custom made it’s very hard to get just the right fit. Tiffany makes a V band without diamonds and tried that on a few times but it never looked right.

Yes.. I totally agree with you about the rings rubbing together at a vulnerable point if they are not flush. I try to be as gentle as I can on my jewelry just for that reason.
I also actually bought a thin little clear plumbing gasket to wear in between sometimes!

I think the diamond baguettes look better?

I don’t think I’d mind them not sitting completely flush.
if the band is thin, it may. I have a small diamond and sapphire band that I have put with it. What do you think?3323823A-5E26-49C9-B502-34D83CA2EEEC.jpeg

oh i love that

Here is another idea? I have seen rings like this where the gold is carved to look like baguettes but there are no diamonds.
This way you get a little bit of interest but a sturdier ring than the eternity band.
This is a listing from a few months ago.. not current but you can get an idea of what it looks like.

This is an especially pretty one.

Here are some other ones.

Just fun to scroll through to get ideas.

Thanks! These are some other ideas that are fun to look at. I think the all white gold/ platinum probably looks better than my sapphire and diamond band. What do you think?

Also, if the marquise band is platinum, do I have to get a platinum band?

What a great idea! Do you have a picture of this?

No. I don't believe so. Will there be some degradation of metals when rubbed together over prolonged periods? Sure. That will happen no matter what you choose given enough time. I don't think it should prevent you from picking metals and colors that please you.
