Wedding band for marquise solitaire

Thanks! These are some other ideas that are fun to look at. I think the all white gold/ platinum probably looks better than my sapphire and diamond band. What do you think?

I like both! It's nice to have 2 (or more) choices.. the you can switch it up.

What a great idea! Do you have a picture of this?

Hi again Bonfire!
Here is a pic of the plumbing gasket and then a pic of it worn as a buffer between the two rings. It looks 72010A1F-5BF5-447C-93E2-E8FD49D2C7A9.jpegbetter in person than it does in the picture.:)

That’s ingenious Rubies-R-Me! Thank you for the photo. Your marquise is amazing!!

That thin pave band wins! What is the diamond weight. They look like rounds.

Thanks on both counts Bonfire!
RE the plumbing "bumbers"I thought it was a rather clever idea.
I stood in the aisle of Lowes for a while trying to figure out what gasket diameter a ring size 4.5 would be. Luckily they are sold in little plastic containers that can open and close without doing any damaging to the packaging.:D

Yes! It is a great look.
Now you just gave me a good idea.. so thank you!
I never wear the marquise ring paired with the pave ring. I love the way it looks too.
The pave band is antique with old cut rounds from the early 1900's and was actually part of my mom's wedding set (and was her mother's wedding band before that) which makes it extra special.
Unfortunately I don't know the carat weight but I would say it's less than a carat total.
It's about 2mm wide.:wavey:

Its a perfect look!!!!!!!! And it being your moms makes it totally special. My marquise is from my mom, and I'm not sure if she had an original wedding band, but I'm thinking she may have.
Unfortunately, my mom has Alzheimer's and I live in another state. She always promised me her ring and I figured that it was better worn than in the attic collecting dust.
When I go back "home", I will look.
It's such a sad situation. My wonderful dad passed in March. He had been taking care of her, until it got too hard. They were both transferred to this beautiful luxury care facility, but now it's just my mom in memory care..... Sorry to vent. It's just been a horrible year. Jewelry and my grandson is a great diversion!

Oh babs23r.. I'm so sorry..
I do know the pain of what you are going through with your mom and it's just awful.
My sweet mom passed away a little more than a year ago from Dementia (she was also living in memory care) and it's just so sad. Like a slow moving car wreck that you have to just sit by and watch it unfold as there is nothing that you can do.
Truly heartbreaking.
The only thing you can do is to occupy yourself with things that bring you joy right now like grandchildren and grandjewels.
Sending you a lot of hugs.

Thank you. It's helpful when someone understands what it's like. Does it get better?
I feel that no one prepares you for this part of life.

Yes.. I totally agree. I'm so very lucky that I'm super close with my sister as we talked on the phone every day for 2 years about it.. truly like therapy.
It's so helpful to speak about it with somebody who is going through the same or similar situation. Maybe there is a support group that the memory care can recommend?
Sadly It does get better after they pass. You have been saying goodbye to your loved one for a very long time at that point and while it's very sad and you miss that person SO MUCH it's comforting that they are no longer suffering and are at peace.
They exist in your smiling memories, pictures and in the loving recalls of them when their lives were full and happy.

Thank you for your words of comfort. I'm still not over my dads passing, and want to cherish every visit, or facetime that I can.
How long was your mom ill?

I'm glad that I brought you a little comfort.. with experience comes knowledge in good things and bad things.
I always say my mom had 88 GREAT years and 2 bad ones..
She was sick for 2 years with the last 6 months being the worst which I guess makes sense.
Take a deep breath.. you are a caring and loving child and that is the most you can do.

I’m so thankful for all of your thoughts. My mom was such a smart person. I always asked her for advice, as did all of my friends. My dad was working part time until he was 92. He passed one week before he was 94. So hard.
I really believed in the afterlife, but lately have been having doubts. Any thoughts on this?

Hi again babs23r!
I was looking at my usual "stuff" on Ebay and came across this band. It's plain yet has just enough interest to make it special. Fair price too. I don't know if that is your size as it might cost as much to size it as it costs to buy it.
Seller has a 30 day return policy too.

Very pretty, although you may be right about the sizing.
I am going to ask my sister to look through my moms jewelry and see if she had an old wedding band for the marquise. Something tells me that she may have, but not sure.
Thank you for your ideas!

:DOh wouldn't that be wonderful if you are able to find the band that your mom wore with it! Let us know if your sister finds one. Fingers crossed for you.
