Hello everyone.

Admittedly, I am a diamond/jewelry novice...hence why I am here seeking expert guidance. I had the fortune of receiving an exquisite 1.0 carat Asscher cut solitaire engagement ring. I LOVE its' simplicity & class. We're now looking for wedding bands and I'm at a loss. I think I want an Asscher channel set eternity band but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

I've attempted to upload pics...however, photos never really due any justice to our beloved jewels.

Kind regards

Are you sure it's an asscher? It looks like an emerald cut.

I think a channel set step cut band would be lovely. Because you have a more modern setting, I'd get something a little chunkier perhaps? Check out Woofmama's spectacular emerald cut five stone that she wears with her EC solitaire. It's one of my favorite sets on PS.

I agree - a channel set band with any type of step cut (asscher or emerald) would look great!

Hi Pedsedrn,

I think Aprilbaby is right- it looks more of an emerald cut than an 'asscher'. 'Asscher' is traditionally more of a square step cut.

I have started a poll about an asscher eternity for my set and here is the link for it. yes, my ring is more chunkier and 'masculine'. but i guess you can follow it to see what it looks like. I am going for a channel setting. and the asscher with the cut corners may be lost in the channel, so a carre cut (similar to asscher without the cut corners) is going to be better suited.

DnT has an asscher full eternity, with 12 pointers, that is bezelled and it looks delicious. and here is her link to the bands that she has.

A couple of comments:
1) The asscher eternity at 15pts are quite beautiful and will perform, which may or may not compete with the solitaire. In my case, it did and i am opting for carre cut eternities instead. You can consider 10pts and i have pics in my poll for your reference. it is about 3mm square, so it gives you a reference against your size of band.
2) i think asschers are best set in a bezel to show off the cut corners; or as a basket or u prong setting for eternities will show the same.
3) DnT has mentioned that her 1.15ct Asscher together with her bezelled asscher eternity (which is also delicious!!!!), is too much. she doesnt pair them together.
4) Woofmama (as pointed out by rosebloom above) did an E-W setting of emerald cuts and it looks great with her solitaire emerald cut in an E-W setting. her link is: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/ec-in-sholdt-semi-bezel-pearlmans-pics.180994/
