Wedding band to match Emilya Halo?

Just wanted to put in my 2 cents--I own one of Victor's spacers for my VC Gabriella solitaire. The spacer does have the tendency to rotate around the donut sometimes and separate. Just be aware that the metal part may be visible at certain times where there is no pave.

Hopefully since this 'spacer' is actually 1.8-1.9mm wide it should have enough friction on the finger and hold on the donut to not have that problem. But we'll have to wait and see! FF Is getting luckier by the day, she just got an extra ring or well err paved 'spacer'

So i went ahead with the straight eternity:

BUT with a notch cut out on one side like the spacer:

I know it would look odd on it's own, but the notch will be hidden under the spacer. Think of it as a 'sparkly spacer' and she can put a WB of her choice next to it :)

AHHHHH, kay1!! You beat me to the punch! LOL ;)) I think you made a good decision. :appl:

I just finalised the decision with VC. *deep exhale*, I can finally relax now... onto the proposal planning :twirl:

EDIT: This whole experience makes me want a diamond now lol. I don't wear rings, but it'd be cool to look at. Maybe a VSB one mounted somehow on a spinning turntable, with UV light. Epic night light!

Deep exhale indeed :D
Good decision; this has been your idea al along when you started this thread.
And now the long wait for complete gorgeousness...

Yeah i guess i just wanted to make sure no one thought it was a crazy idea! Watch, after all that she'll tell me a gap is no problem at all!

Don't even start worrying about this, kay!! You have proven to be beyond thoughtful, and she is gonna be sooooo excited -- what a ring this will be!! :appl:

anyone suggested a spacer that isn't a complete circle but has a gap to fit the donut? so therefore, no spinning, and you can fit in a flush eternity?

I didn't like the idea/look of a spacer, so the final outcome was to make the eternity into a spacer by notching it. Then we could get a third ring to be the WB.

Btw there was another option. To do the same with the eternity (notch it) but put pave all round the ring. Upside is it could be worn on it's own upside down. Downside it would be impossible or very difficult to resize!

I decided against it and kept pave only on 2/3 of the ring.

This also actually increases wearability: the pave stones will not get damaged easily if the underside is plain platinum :read:

Kay, is this the one you got then? You didn't post this pic so I'm thinking it's something else.

Sorry was away for a couple of days.

It's the straight version like this:

http://www.victorcanera.com/jewelry/bands/flush-fitting-pave-eternity-band

BUT with a notch cut out of it, like the spacer:

http://www.victorcanera.com/jewelry/bands/platinum-spacer

Where the notch is there's no diamonds because they won't fit. Basically it's a 'diamond spacer' or a rang with a notch cut out :P

Unless you plan to have the two rings soldered together, that wedding band is not going to stay up against the engagement ring all the time (unless the rings are really snug on her finger, which is almost never the case year round) and it is not going to look good. I would strongly encourage you to change the order to a straight band.

The idea was it's not a WB but an 'extra ring', so she can pick any straight WB to put next to it. The notch will be hidden under the halo.

So she has the option of ER (likely), ER + diamond-spacer (unlikely), ER + diamond-spacer + WB (likely), WB (likely). Also it's being custom made to fit perfectly against the halo. I know it may not stay put normally, but i think with a WB sandwiching it it should do.

Yes, if a third band is involved, that should work. A lot of us prefer the plain band in the middle and the diamond wedding band at the bottom though. I just wish you were waiting to get her input on this, because I know it would not be my choice. In fact, I wouldn't even want a spacer and would prefer the little gap with a straight diamond band!

Make it like Frankie's if it has to be a little larger, but under no circumstances put that notch in it! Make it a regular, straight band. I wouldn't put pave on the doughnut and then you won't have to have a spacer band.

I would do it just like diamond seeker....FWIW

oops, looks like I'm too late. It will be beautiful! I have a double shank Emilya and it is so beautifully made!

I know she doesn't like the gap, so it was kinda the only choice (or flush stems). It's just one of those situations where there's too many options and i'm trying to guess. I figured this way it works until we get the wedding bands then still works after. If then she prefers things a bit differently I could get the 'spacer' fixed to remove the notch by a local jeweler.
