I ordered a tonne of potential WP1 wedding shoes from Zappos to make me tall-tall-taller. They should be there when I get home! So excited. Zappos rules.

Plus, then I can finally get the alterations started on that dress (and hence post you all some pics!)

Indie for some reason I thought you were already tall tall tall!!!!! And yeah, Zappos rules. Last winter, I was in desperate need of winter boots, so I ordered a few pairs in the evening, UPS delivered the next day, I would try on, then order a few different pairs that night, see the UPS guy again the next day, and so on for about 4 days. I felt awful but I really had trouble finding boots that fit me. I was eventually succesful!

If you see any stilts on Zappos let me know, because I really need to be tall tall tall tall tall.

Oh, Crown honey, they've got stilts alright. I ordered four pairs of platform wedges with heels 5" or higher. Wooweee! I'm only 5'2" (barely) and FI is 6'5". Plus, the Stephen Yearick gown (which is once-worn) was alterred to fit someone 5'7" (in heels) and I'd rather not muck with that beading anymore. So if I can make myself 5'7" in heels too, I'll be happy.

OK, so here goes. I've narrowed it down to two possibilities (neither of which I HAVE to keep).

Please keep in mind that I will be seated at a table for most of this wedding (no dancing or anything...just a formal dinner), so only I will know the shoes are there, except for, possibly the odd glimpse going down the aisle.

Pair One - The Teal Shoe of Joy. I'm loving these babies on account of they are pure shoe madness yet weirdly beautiful. Their exuberance sort of captures how I feel about marrying my darling FI.

I may have to keep these whether or not I use them for wedding shoes. Oh, and they are mega comfy too and easy to walk in.

Please, please, please forgive the hideous unpedicured feets. Yuck!

Here is the side view so you can see a glimpse of exuberant shoefulness...

tealshoe2.jpg

And here''s the full on side view, which of course nobody would actually see...

Oh, happy joyful crazy shoes! I just love you guys.

Here''s the other pair. I fear these make my ankles look like they are dressed up as bunnies.

bunnyshoes1.jpg

But on the other hand, they are more subtle and conservative and wouldn't show up at all under the dress. No shocked in-laws. AND they make me 5 ft 7 and a HALF!

So, am I nuts or what? I suppose I could just get alterations with these, and then see if I find something the same-ish height but 'better'.

I FLIPPIN LOVE THOSE BLUE SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IndieDoll! You beat me by 2 inches. I am 5''0." (Covering my eyes from the glare of the sun as I strain my neck and look up and wave to you...) HI up there!!!

That feast of a shoe says to me "Independent Gal." I want you to keep those shoes even if you don''t wear them to your wedding. But I think you should wear them to your wedding.

I agree that shoe#2 makes your ankles look like they are going to the playboy mansion...but maybe that''s only from the top-down view (and who at the wedding will be seeing them from that view?) They look super cute from the side. I like the 5''7 and HALF factor...maybe you can find some costume earrings that are really cute, poke a hole through each "ear" and wrangle the ear flat onto the ankle? Does that make sense? And use pliers to bend the back of the earring post so it lays flat against your foot. That could add some sparkle and also tame the bunnies.

OH my goodness gracious I LOVE LOVE LOVE the blue ones. I WANT them. They are so adorable and only you would know how fabulously off the wall they are under that wedding dress.

The second pair are nice too. Are you looking for more conservative white ones? Your bunny comment made me laugh out loud. FI just gave me funny looks from the living room.

Here are a few more "weddingy" options.
I understand your plight, I am just barely 5''2 as well

I can''t speak about the other brands, but nine west are some of the most comfortable heels I have ever owned and the last pair I had were not platform but had 3 1/2" heels!

Oh man IndyGal, I am a shoe FREAK and I absolutely adore those blue ones!

Definitely go with those!!! If I wasn''t already 5''8 without shoes, I would buy them for myself!!!

Oh and also, if I were you, I''d wear them to my wedding and lift my dress every once in a while to let them peek out!!!

Indy- those are the mose shoelicious teal things I have ever seen in my life!! Keep them whatever you do! I think those would be fantastic wedding shoes- they are funky and seem to fit your hip WP1 restaurant setting.

Way to go! And yes, I agree with the others- shoe pair 2 looks a lot like bunnies... and well, they just arent as fun as the teal ones!

LOL...actually they remind me of propellers...your feet look ready for take off!

They are both fun...I think you should wear one of each.

ROFL OMG these are totally adorable.

At 5-8, I can''t wear these.. because.. I would be as tall as most professional male athletes
20.gif
.. I hate being this tall.. 5-6 would have been so perfect. sigh..
tisk tisk, be proud...i''m the same and I LOVE LOVE LOVE being taller then all of the VP''s at my company when in 4 inch heals (everyday)...hehe

I may be biased, but I say BLUE, BLUE, BLUE!!! Not only are they super cute, but I think you''ll be really comfortable in them. I had 4-inch blue stilettos for the ceremony, but then changed into 4-inch wedges and they were super comfy all night long. I really do love those blue shoes!

Those blue shoes are AMAZING!
18.gif

Simply because you are calling the blue ones the "teal shoes of joy" means that you should wear the blue ones!!!!

The white ones are a bit...5 year old tramp?

I''m putting a big fat vote in the teal shoes of joy column. If they make you happy, wear them! Being super comfy doesn''t hurt, either.

Plus you won''t look like you have flying bunnies for ankles.

The teal ones all the way!!! I just love those! Of course if you don''t feel comfortable wearing them with your dress, I can understand, but if you''re just not so sure because you don''t want to shock your guests, I say forget about them and wear those beauties!! I may have to go hunt down a pair and buy them myself! They''re wonderful!

WOW. Exuberant shoe-fullness is absolutely right. Those are something!

As for the bunny shoes. Yeah. I''m totally getting a bunny feeling from those.

Very interesting shoe choices Indy. You are a wonderful original.

P.S. about those bunny shoes.. if you would rather go with them, is there any way to take the bow part off? I cant tell exactly from the pictures, but maybe you could snip it off.. then if you want, clip on something sparkly or fun! Not sure if its possible, but just a thought! The suggestion of holding them back somehow might work too if you cant cut off the ears

OH OH OH BLUE SHOE BRIDE!!

I vote for the first ones. They''re kinda blue, it works!

Another vote for the teal spunky beauties!

I did the same thing. Absolutely the way to go! Try everything you think will look good!

Of course, then I got THE shoes from e-wedding.com and had to send everything else back! But, they have such a great return policy, you can''t go wrong.

Okay, now, see, no one down here at 5''1" is feeling sorry for you! At least you can reach that top shelf at the grocery store! Sheesh! Whine, whine, whine.

Hi fellow shoe lover...definitely the teal babies! Those are some glorious shoes! I LOVE me some crazy bright shoes-they just make any outfit!

Mini threadjack: you should see these boots I have that remind me of those wedges! I might have to bust out the camera just to show them to you. My fiance says they look like pro wrestler shoes...I forget which wrestler, though. I think I''ve worn them approximately 2 times, but they''re worth having just to look at!

OOOH! I found a tiny pic of them in my Zappos account history! Here they are:

Thanks for the feedback ladies! Looks like the bunny ears would be pretty easy to glue down / cut off if I decide to go the more conservative route. I'm going to bring both to try on with the gown when I go to be fitted.

Gee, I better make an appointment for that, huh?

With all this travel and the craziness at work, I keep forgetting about wedding stuff.

Thing2 those boots are nutty, in the best possible way. I would be wearing them all the damn time.
