Hello all...

Recently engaged and hoping to start shedding some pounds... for those who have lost weight since their engagement, how has this effected your ring size? I have a short term goal of losing 20-25 lbs, and a long term goal of losing 35-40lbs... any idea how much this might effect my ring size?

I think that has a lot of variables.

I lost 30obs last year and it only went down about a half size. But my fingers didnt have a lot of "fat" on them to start, just big bones, lol.

I''ve lost 10lbs, no difference. But the weight seems to all be coming off the bottom of me, sooo fingers don''t count.....?

I never thought I gained wieght in my fingers, but after losing 20lbs my ring is too big. I need to resize it because it has fallen off a couple times

Hello and congrats again!

I lost about 20 pounds and went from a 6 to a 5.5. Hope that helps!

It varies a lot depending on the person, I think. My fingers are very sensitive to weight gain/loss. I recently lost about 15 lbs., and a ring that was too tight for comfort now fits perfectly. My sister''s fingers, on the other hand, don''t change size much at all when she gains or loses weight.

I lost about 10 lbs, but no real change in ring size. My fingers fluctuate a bit with heat/cold though, which might make it hard to notice.

My fingers are very sensitive to weight loss. I recently lost about 5 lbs and now my ring is way too big. I probably won't get it resized because I know my weight is going to fluctuate throughout my life and I don't want to keep having the band manipulated. That's just me though, I'm kind of a weirdo about things like that

It depends on the person but I''m willing to bet that with that amount lost you''re going to experience finger shrinkage. I lost 30 or so lbs a year or so ago and my finger size was hugely affected. I went from a 6.5 to a 5.25. Because of the pave in my ering they couldn''t size it smaller than a 6.50, so I had a horseshoe sizer added which brings it down to a 5.25, my wedding bands (I have 2) are 5.55.75 (I think) to accommodate having so much stuff on that finger.

I''ve lost over 42 lbs and my fingers have definitely shrunk a bit as my rings are far looser. I''m planning on losing more so I''m not going to have them resized yet.

I have lost 17 pounds so far. But however the ring was always a bit large and I can''t get a smaller size because mt knuckle is to big. Soo yep I was no help.

I have gained and lost more kilos that I am happy to admit and my ring size hasn''t changed at all. And I am talking in excess of gaining/losing 50 pounds so it may not have an effect at all. It''s hard to tell.

I have been sooo many different sizes in my lifetime and right now I am UBER fat! Long story short, I have had the same size fingers since I was 12, and a tiny stick figure of a girl. It really depends on your body type and bone structure. I have worn an 8.5 100 pounds lighter than I am now and I still do!

i am currently 10 pounds overweight (for me) and I''ve been fluctuating for some time now. even if i lose 1 pound, my ring starts swirling around. (at least 0.5 size too big) i think it depends on your body type. my face also bloats very easily and loses the water weight easily.

Congrats, btw!!! it''s wonderful that you''re engaged!!!

I gained some weight while my hubby was deployed last year (about 15 lbs), and when I lost it, my ring size went down from a 6.5 to a 6 and they are now a little loose. I will wait until I lose another 10 lbs before i have them resized again, but I am anticipating another quarter to half a size difference.

I lost 15-20 pounds and barely a quarter size in my finger (went from a 5.75 to maybe a 5.5).

I''ve lost 25 lbs in the past few months and no noticeable difference.... YMMV

This is really pretty interesting, how some people''s fingers change size, and others do not.

I''m pretty sure that last summer, I was trying on 6''s, albiet snug.

Now I am probably a 6.75, but my ring is a 7. (it''s a ''small'' seven, though... I have lots of size seven rings for my right hand, and they are too big on my left ring finger...)

I think about 3 years ago, when a friend got engaged, her ring was a 5??? I could fit it at the time. That was maybe 15-20lbs ago... :-/

So, I''m thinking my size will change. My fingers seem to be very sensitive to my weight and diet.... geez, fat bloated finger, lol!

how are all of you ladies losing so much weight????? i am struggling to lose 10. won''t budge! i did southbeach for 2 weeks, lost, then immediately gained it back.

Hmm for me I''ve lost less than 10 lbs. so far, but I think all the weight''s coming from my fingers! My ring is super loose now (4.5...I estimate that I could fit a 4.25-4 now). I didn''t really have fat fingers before. It''s just weird.

I lost 23 lbs last year and my rings that were a little snug now are to big, many years ago I lost around 50-60 lbs and I went from a ring size of 8.0 to a 6.5, my fingers lose and gain weight as I do.
