Week 9 - Share Photos: Wedding Decor

I really don''t have any great shots of the restaurant where we got married - so here is a pic taken off their website to give you an idea of what it looked like on the inside.

Sorry, that didn''t work initially.

I chose this photo because it shows off most of the things that made the decor special for me. The placecards, favour boxes and centrepieces were made by me. I spent a lot of time making everything and was so glad that people liked the decor, my efforts dd not go to waste.

The flower arrangement in the background is one of 2 that my mother''s friend made for us.

I did all of our decorations myself, my favorites were the aisle decor...

I like this one because you can see our simple hydrangea centerpieces, our favor boxes that I folded while watching TV, the table numbers that I made to sort of match our wedding invitations, the sage green and brown table runners, and the green apple scented candles and glass holders from IKEA.

Every table at our wedding had a wedding photo of a family member as part of the decor. This photo shows one of them along with the wine bottle table numbers we used.

I spent less on the decor than I should have, in retrospect. Oh well! We had a bit of a lantern theme going - these were the centerpieces on the low tables.

I love your centerpieces!!

I loved my centerpieces and I didn't even pick them out my Mom asked for a job and me, being awful at colors and flowers and such said, "decorations, these are my favorite colors and they have to have peacock feathers." She is great!!

We had hanging chinese lanterns in all fall colors over the dance floor. I made the centerpeices myself, mason jars and wrapped the tops with pearls, had little tea lights and wrapped them in ivory lace and then another size mason jar with black satin ribbon and twine wrapped around then...the chandeliers in the reception center were black with strands of clear beads hanging from them, I also had a cookie buffet decorated, and a photobooth, and signs everywhere, but aghhh guess you can't include that into one big photo lol

SB, I love your low centerpieces!

FMW, the peacock feathers are fab!

While this isn't my favorite shot, its the best one to see most of our decor elements: the centerpiece/table number combo that my sister and I designed standing in IKEA (that's where the vase is from...the rocks from Michael's...and I twisted the aluminum wires and printed the table numbers myself), our escort cards (again, printed and made by me), you can see one of the little silver tins of BBQ rub tied with green ribbon that was our favor, and the framed green menu.

This week was hard to choose! Since we eloped, we didn't really have "wedding decor" that was planned in the sense of linens or center pieces. Our decor was the bed and breakfast itself and I love this shot from the ceremony that really shows why we chose to get married in that room with all the beautiful furniture, architecture, high ceilings, gah. Loved it.

With all the craziness going on, I gave up on worrying about any sort of décor. The religious ceremony was a surprise to us -- we thought we were just signing in the office.

Our "décor" really just was the winery itself! We picked it for the amazing food/wine/service and absolutely unbeatable surroundings.

Sorry -- had to post 2 to show what I mean!

1st picture is the view my grandparents had from their room. My grandfather took this picture from their patio. Each room had a similar view
(BTW, that little building below the pool was the room we stayed in!)

2nd picture is looking down the line of rooms from my grandparents' patio. Each of those little buildings is a "room". Each has a private patio with table/chairs looking over the view (from 1st pic) plus fireplace, marble tub, glassed in shower, and more. Everything had grape arbors (with vines turning beautiful red/orange/green and ripe grapes), beautiful woodwork, natural stones, and more.

My grandfather commented afterwards that the detailing in EVERYTHING was just spectacular :appl:
