there weren''t many men in their 50''s who could possibly keep up with us. It felt good to know we had improved so much over the months of working out with him.

haha wow Jeff that harness and running thing sounds brutal. But definitely a good workout I could see. congrats rod on the new levels you guys are reaching with the trainer. it does feel good to hit a new milestone or break a record from time to time. hitting the 600 cal mark yesterday on the treadmill definitely felt mentally good.

so this morning i went to kbox and man am i glad i did. it was actually a hard workout, i had 1/2 a kashi protein bar beforehand so i felt fine but i always feel just a tiny bit tired after i wake up and work out...so it's a little harder than when i do weeknight workouts. then i came home and did 200 jumping jacks and some situps and leg exercises. we went to a friend's engagement brunch in the city and the food was AMAZING, so of course we sampled a bit of everything, it was kind of like a tapas buffet...so we had some cheese and crackers and then a few mini slices of freshly made small pizzas, some salad (yummy arugula and frisee with these little fruits in it that i know the same of but just can't remember now...they have seeds and are soft and the flesh is dark pink)...a few bits of an egg quiche thing which wasn't my style, and a few other random tastes of things. two mimosas hehee. and then the crowning glory, dessert!!! they had all these mini cupcakes which were SUPER GOOD. i had four! but they were tiny so it was probably like 1.5 big ones. haha. and they were divine. a white cake with a coconut cream frosting and fresh coconut all over it, and then super dark creamy chocolate frosted ones...yum. there were a bunch of diff types. and then they had these ricotta donut holes which were fresh from the oven, yummy but those were greg's favorite and i only had 2 bites of them. the cupcakes were my thing!! oh and we brought home a chocolate croissant for dessert later...or maybe breakfast tomorrow. hahaa. we're pretty full still and it's been like 2 hours.

so it FELT like we ate a lot but i don't think we did really. sometimes continuously eating small foods makes you feel that way. but we are stuffed. so for dinner i figure we'll just have soup from the pantry or a salad or something at home, casual. and then i'd like for us to get out for a walk tonite. we are having a weird indian summer and it was like 75 and sunny in SF...which is practically unheard of. people were walking around in shorts and tanks, an odd sight for SF in late oct! so i figure lets take advantage of the good weather and stretch our legs a bit tonite.

then tomorrow i'll make us some sort of breakfast, and i am going with a friend to do some shopping but i am hoping to get to the gym actually. i think that this week's eating-gasm almost requires an extra gym workout. so i will see how i feel but if i can fit it in i hope to get over there for an hour and just do the treadmill and burn ~500ish calories. then we're planning on doing a pizza and salad tomorrow night from TJ's. s

anyhow, time to relax on the couch, it's been a GO GO GO day...hope everyone is having a great day and weekend!!

Got in an hour on the treadmill this morning as tomorrow we have to shoot out to get the floor sander and I won''t have time, so feeling quite

I tried intervals for 20 mins then settled into 5.5 mph and 15% incline for the rest of the time...

Happy Sunday. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. This week has been crazy as far as school goes so not much time for working out. But yesterday I did a 3 mile hike and then 7 mile walk with my Breast Cancer 3Day team. Today I''m back to my nose stuck in my laptop trying to get all my school work done. Looking forward to the end of this class and the start of a new one.

Hope everyone is doing great!

WOW Kimberly, NICE JOB!!

Thanks, Jeff, it was a great walk. My muscles are sore! Next week we''re doing back-to-backs, at least 16 miles on both Sat. and Sun. then one weekend off and then the three day. It''s been a lot of fun training but I miss sleeping past 6 a.m. on Saturdays so I''m coming close to being glad this is over.

Congratulations Kimberly. Keep it going!!

So we ate very healthy today and we worked out hard at the gym for nearly 3 hours. I was really sore after the "Total Body Breakdown" session with our trainer, and have found that working out hard seems to make the soreness go away much faster. So we pushed a little harder than usual and of course ended with our usual 45 minutes on the elliptical. I'm routinely burning over 700 calories on the elliptical now. I keep pushing the level to keep my heart rate in the 150s. We had salad for dinner (I could probably just live on salad and am glad to have spinach again!). Then we decided to walk to the nearest Starbucks, which is about 2 miles from our house, so we walked at least 4 miles round trip.

Tomorrow's not a gym day for me. I run on Monday's, so a 6 mile run is in the cards between job searching.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. See you on next week's fitness thread thanks to our dear friend Lorelei. And BTW......good luck with the sanding Lorelei!!

happy sunday everyone...hope people had a relaxing weekend. kimberly, kudos on the walks!! rod, you sound like you are doing wonderfully, jeff and lorelei you too! i love reading about everyone's progress.

so today i went to the gym and did another 600 calorie workout, i love that # now, hahaa. it was 57 minutes on an incline of 9-11 for 3/4 of it and 3.80 miles. so i felt pretty good about that. it's definitely not as hard as it used to be...bumping it up to get the incline higher of 10.5-11 keeps my heart rate in the 80ish range whereas it had gotten to the point where the 9 incline was not doing that anymore. of course great tunes help!

so last nite i just had cereal for dinner and greg had soup, after our food-gasm yest afternoon. the food was divine but such a big event with alcohol and stuff like that in the middle of the day kind of wrecks your mental state for dinner. we definitely felt kind of weighed down. so i just had some cracklin oat bran, but then i was hungry right before bed so i had a 1/2 of a kashi protein bar that i had half eaten earlier that morning. it gave me just that tiny bit of fullness that i needed to not go to bed 'hungry'. so this morning we had 2 eggs, 2 sausages and english muffins for breakfast with butter and honey. amazingly enough that all was only about 500 cals including my coffee and soy milk. then i wasn't hungry til late afternoon, so i just had a luna bar and then went to work out and now i am heating up my TJ pizza in the oven. so today will be a light calorie day, probably about 400 cals under my daily averages but i figure it helps make up for yesterday a little more, i mean i did eat 4 mini cupcakes (which were divine). and i am eating the whole pizza tonite and having a salad so i'm not undereating at all as i will be full, it just is a bit less calories than typical.

i also went to TJ's and stocked up on a few pizzas for the week, a rosemary chicken with wild rice dinner that we just heat up in the oven, another mushroom ravioli dinner like we had last week and a bunch of salads for lunches and similar. so we're pretty much all set for food this week which is great, and TJ's is WAY cheaper than whole foods, though i still get our fresh fruit and fresh poultry and meat at WF. i also love that the luna bars and kashi protein bars at TJ's are only $1 each! can't beat that.

i hit the mall today with orangevixen and was surprised to find that i am now a size 6 in many of the popular brand name pants. woo hoo.

i got an aweome pair of citizens of humanity jeans at norstrom that are super cute, straight leg style in a darkish vintage wash, and then i got a pair of A&F jeans and a pair of AE jeans. the citizen jeans were a splurge, but they looked too good to not get them, and i had just returned a $120 pair of shoes to nordies so i figured with the jeansit was mostly a wash...hahaa. so anyway i'm very happy with where i'm at now...i could still 'tone up' my arms a tiny bit and my belly a bit more, aka get some more muscle going on there...so i'll keep up with the strength training and doing situps and similar during the week. today i also worked my arms and back at the gym which felt good so hopefully that will finish up the toning of the arms.

long post, i can so ramble on forever in this thread!! anyway, hope everyone has a wonderful week !!!!
