Good morning to all!

You are absolutely right Mara in as much as it is so easy for it to mess with your head how you want to look and how it is reasonable to look! I am never ever going to have a 24 inch waist again, but I am ok with that, as long as I look fit and trim that is good enough to me! I see some poor obese women in the gym trying to workout and I feel so sorry for them. They must feel their task is impossible, but it is good to see them trying to help themselves.

I had an excellent workout this morning, did 25 mins on the crosstrainer and cranked the tension up to 12 - I was very pleased with myself! Until Husband said it actually would go up to about 50 and he was on a much higher tension - huh - flipping twig legs!

So all in all good, thats 4 great workouts this week!

Keep up the good work everyone

kudos lorelei..24 inch waist was when i was in high school i think! hehee.

worked out last nite and man was i sore from the day before and so this morning i am just REALLY SORE. esp my butt and arms, owie. i typically try to give a day of rest in between the classes but there is no class on saturday, so i didn't want to feel like a slug from thurs-monday until class starts again. so at least now i feel good to do a few walks this weekend but nothing else.

breakfast this morning was 5 egg whites and a small handful of cheese scrambled with salt and pepper. i figured if i am having a high carbo lunch i might as well just eat some protein this morning and not as many carbs (did have coffee which has carbs in milk and sugar, damn!) as i typically do! i'm having a baked potato for lunch with veggies and cheese at this restaurant we are going to (and a little dessert?!) and then dinner is a friend's birthday at a mexican restaurant. i typically love mexican but this place i don't really love it as much but they do have this famous chicken broth soup that everyone loves so i typically get that and it's actually very healthy, just clear stock broth with some veggies, onions, parsley, lemon and chicken breast chunks and avocado slices...yum!! now if i can just stay away from the chip basket, we'll be in business. hehee.

have a fab day everyone and a great weekend!!

Took a power walk yesterday for an hour during lunch. Then went to the gym in the evening. So did great yesterday.

I go to TJ''s practically every other day, so yesterday I bought that Go Lean cereal...Mara, it''s great! I thought it was actually very tasty and with a nice hint of sweet. I hate overly sweet things (probably because I am not an overly sweet girl

) so I thought it was perfect as is. This morning I did mix 1/2 cup of it with 1/4 cup honey bunches and that was really nice as well...gives the cereal a good balance. I found it interesting that sugar levels on both were the same...honey bunches just seems so much sweeter to me. Anyway, thanks much for the tip...it was nice to have a more carby type breakfast, as I have been eating cottage cheese or eggwhites this week. Totally satisfied that carb craving.

For today''s workout I am going to treat myself to something fun...go down to the beach and go rollerblading! So that gives me something active I''ve done everyday since Sat. Doesn''t feel like it was too much, since some of it was sitting at home and doing pilates. Lunch today will be a subway''s sandwhich since I am having lunch with my mom and it''s what she wants to eat. Dinner, salmon and salad.

Have a great weekend gals....

Hopefully I wil have survived a big party weekend!

Hi Ladies! I have been totally swamped at work this week & although I haven''t been posting, I''ve been keeping up with the thread (and thankfully my workouts!)

This week I worked 2 twelve hour days and today instead of working until 11:30 am like I''m supposed to, I worked until 2:30
20.gif
.

I told you all earlier this week that I signed up for another 5K. My goal is to run 3 times a week at minimum for the next 3 weeks until the race. I did run 3 times this week, although the first day was only 1.5 miles because I felt sick. That must have been a total fluke because yesterday I went running outside (in the 90 degree heat!) and ran 3 miles in about 40-43 minutes (I didn''t keep an exact time). It felt great! I loved being outside & running felt really good. Today I went to the gym & ran on the treadmill. I finished my three miles in 41 minutes, which I was pretty pleased with.

Next week I am travelling for business 3 days, so I think I''m going to have to work out at the hotel one or two days to make my goal. that should be interesting - I hope they have a treadmill because I wouldn''t feel comfortable running outside in an unfamiliar location.

Anyway, enough about me!!

Monarch, congratulations!!!!!!! Your accomplishments are so inspiring. Not only have you lost weight, but you did a walking marathon, and have really made a life changing impact on your body! Keep up the good work!

I have rambled enough. Everyone sounds like they are doing great - keep on going!

Thanks everyone for your compliments and encouragement! I wish the same to all of you. I am walking 10 miles tomorrow morning with some of the ladies from my marathon walk team...just came down to let the doggie out for a potty break and checked PS, of course, lol! I will certainly continue to be a part of this thread as it has helped me so much the last few months, and I look forward to reading all of your posts as always! Take care, and think positive!!! You can do it!
