Hi Renn

We would need the reports for the stone (GIA, etc).
Can you post those?

shallow - included and/or dirty - are they ungraded / no reports ?

Hello, thank you for the reply, no reports unfortunately, however very much the reason I've reached out here, to get an indication that it is, or is not worth getting them certified. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hello, thanks for the reply, I think they are dirty, these were an opshop find in a mess of broken gold jewellery, I have scrapped the gold however I could only very faintly make out the following 2.0 ct D on the ring holding just the largest stone, it looked that all 3 were part of a set.

I am hoping to get some guidance if I should spend the $ on a certification or not to bother, any guidance is appreciated

Thanks in advance

Maybe take them to an appraiser first?

Agree - pay an appraiser to have a look and go from there.... be odd to find a 2ct D Natural tossed into a box of misc but stranger finds have happened.... OpShop ~ Australia ??

Yeah that seems super unlikely

Any inscriptions on the girdles?

often they will inscribe the report number on the girdle.....

It was a fruitful opshop visit and one I have been very thankful for, 3 mid-luxury vintage Swiss watches, 1 was in disrepair but had a decent weight of gold, some other very fine jewellery. It all had a bit of a deceased estate feel given the age of the watches and the value, the lady said it was all donated by 1 person that morning, so all this makes me hopeful.

that's sad... maybe they had no-one to pass them down to...

by the way, if you happen to have a UV/Black light some (not all) Natural diamonds will glow blue so that's a quick way to check if they are real. (if they don't glow they can still be natural but you'd need a specialized machine/tests to confirm.)

I've often felt sad about the items thinking maybe some sweet old man just couldn't bare holding them anymore, I mean 1 of the watches (very pricey) was still in the returning envelope following its service, the envelope was really old with notations from several services/repairs...
Thanks for the UV/black light trick
