Well, I’ve had the vaccine, anyone else?

How do you feel @AprilBaby? So far I don’t feel anything...I hope my immune system isn’t sleeping...:roll2:

From what I understand it takes a few hours to longer to get a sore arm from the first dose if you are going to get it. I am sure your immune system is doing OK and don't worry...I bet you will feel a bit of soreness by this evening.

It’s so funny @missy..I want some kind of
reaction...:shifty:

So, just got back with DH, he’s had the Pfizer jab, lots of people there, so none spare for me. Hopefully it should be my turn in 6 weeks or less.

I'm hoping you don't honestly (especially not on the first dose!) I got a massive headache with a sore spot where they gave me the shot. Thankfully not much else.

dreading the 2nd shot though (I'll be taking a few days off work for that one)

A little bit of sore arm, the lymph node is swelling again and I’m sleepy but I didn’t sleep well last night. Just took Tylenol and I’m going to nap. Overall I feel ok. Good luck MamaBee!

Was that the Moderna or Pfizer @Arcadian?

I got pretty much the same thing as Arcadian with my first dose- sore arm and headache. The second shot was much, much worse- and more so for my husband. Moderna vaccines

will be Moderna. @pinkjewel when people in my study group got the 2nd, seemed to be quite a few who also about the symptoms. Many had them about 24-48 hours. One had them a bit longer but not much more than that.

It was a direct tipoff to some of us who didn't have those symptoms...lol.

I had mine at 12 noon...I don’t even have a sore arm..If I press on it I guess I feel a teeny bit of soreness...My immune system must be a dud. :confused2:
I’m editing it to say I have a sore arm!

@AprilBaby Thank you...Your immune system is smokin...Mine stinks..I don’t really feel anything. I think my vaccination site is a teeny bit sore because I keep pressing on it...:wall:

Don’t worry, it’s just the first shot. More people feel it 12 hrs after the 2nd shot.

What reactions did you have @nicoleneeedshelp?

First shot: nothing except sore arm

Second shot: fine for 19 hours, then terrible, miserable, awful flu symptoms for about 10 hours. I had nausea, inability to regulate body temperature (either I was freezing cold or roasting hot), fever, body aches. But, then I was absolutely fine. I am thrilled to have the vaccine and I hope they start making enough so everyone can have it ASAP.

I qualified for the vaccine because of my job, but my husband does not qualify and neither does my son. My husband is 50 years old and a non-essential worker so he will be at the end of the line. My son does not qualify because he is too young.

I had Moderna.

@Asscherhalo_lover hope you are experiencing minimal (or no) side effects and had a good night's sleep. Congrats on getting both doses.

@Austina I'm sorry they couldn't give you the vaccine last night but I am glad your DH got the vaccine and soon you will be able to get it.

@MamaBee how are you feeling now?

@NicoleNeedsHelp congratulations on getting both doses and glad you are feeling completely better now. Definitely worth it. Hopefully your DH and son can get vaccinated soon...I hope the states speed the process up as it progresses and that there is enough vaccine for everyone who wants it soon.

@AprilBaby how are you feeling? Congrats on both doses.

@Arcadian you are halfway there...hopefully the second Moderna dose won't be too bad but it's smart you took a few days off just in case.

@pinkjewel woohoo you and your DH got both doses. Very happy for you and hopefully no residual side effects now.

Had my first Moderna shot yesterday. My arm is very very sore. Can barely lift it. Went to bed especially early as I was exhausted. Feeling decent now except for the arm, a slight headache and some neck stiffness (I have neck probs already so maybe because I was tense?).
Hope you are feeling well @MamaBee and @AprilBaby !

I know this sounds weird but I’m happy I have a sore arm this morning. My head was fine until I put my reading glasses on my nose. Then it felt sensitive and my head feels very slightly achy. The reason I want to feel something is because of my age. If I feel something I know my immune system is trying to do it’s job..
@Slick1 my lower back is still achy but I don’t know if that’s just normal achy or vaccine achy.

I’m going to add body aches to my list of reactions. My core (lower spinal area) is feeling quite achy. Took a couple Tylenol and going to work....

You go girl!

I don't want to say I was right but :)
Your immune system is working woohoo Joanne!

Wow, I’ve just had the text to book an appointment. There can’t be many 65 year olds in our area, because they were next on the list, then the 64 yr olds and those with health conditions, then my age group, 60-64’s. I’m not complaining though, I’ve got an appt for next Wednesday

Yay!!!! It may be because you live in the same house with Colin?

The arm soreness came on much faster and more intense. This morning I have a slight headache (almost like sinus pressure) and I have chills and body ache but no fever. DH took the day off work to be with the kids so I can rest. Which I'm going to do right now! I'm about 13 hours post shot.

I honestly don’t know @MamaBee, it could be, but when he asked the Dr yesterday about having mine at the same time, she told him no, it’s done in strict order. At least we’ll both be able to travel at the same time when we’re allowed to. I’m ridiculously happy that I’ve got my appt now. I just spoke to a friend who’s in the same age group, and they’ve heard nothing yet. It might just be geographical location.

@Austina I’m so happy for you! I’m sorry if I’m asking a repeat question...Which vaccine did he get?
