Well, I did it. I went with a Pricescope Vendor over Tiffany...

...and I''m now awaiting delivery of the engagement ring. I placed the order 2 days ago and the vendor is going to try and pull off a miracle: put the diamond into a properly sized ring, then ship it overnight for my proposal this Friday night. If they pull it off, and the rock looks as good as it sounds (according to specs, the vendor''s opinion, and the online images), I''m going to give them a MAJOR shout out in this forum! Wait, assuming my lady says yes of course, otherwise it''s a moot point

I want to thank all the folks for posting their opinions in here on diamonds and engagement rings. I have learned so much from so many of you over the past few weeks. I just hope the ring is as gorgeous as the one I almost bought at Tiffany!

And yes, I will definitely post a few pics when all is said and done! By the way, the setting is a standard 6-prong solitaire, so that probably won''t excite the people in here who spend a lot of time designing their own intricate/beautiful settings...

By the way, I think I''ve learned from other posts within Pricescope that Tiffany cuts and grades their own stones? I would love to know what a diamond expert would say if they compared the stone I almost bought from Tiffany with the one I am actually receiving (in terms of cut and pure ''wow'' factor, for lack of a better term)! Maybe they are in fact equally beautiful, regardless of the rating system used? In any case, if they are equally beautiful, then you folks in here were right: the one I went with is a bigger stone for less money, which will come in handy at the time of the wedding...
