Just had this one made and I have to say that I LOVE this combo. It's 34 inches long, ranges from a few teeny, less than 2 mm mahenges, to a more general 2.5-4 mm bead range (in both mahenges and welos). The welos mostly have the blue/green flash but there are some orange, red, and purplish in some of them. The mahenges are also round and smooth, which I like. There are also some silver beads in there. What I like best is that all of the beads, of both types, have this lovely glow about them! The welos perform well in any lighting, I get nice flashes or at the least that nice glow. I'm fascinated with this necklace, it's just so pretty. I own around 8 or so bead necklaces now and this is easily my new favorite. I'll post pics of a few other beaded necklaces, I definitely have a "type" - long ones with tiny beads. If anyone else wants to post any of their own beaded necklaces please feel free

mahenges with demantoids, mint garnets, moonstone, and silver. My only colorblocked type necklace, I generally like the random look.



Jumble of necklaces: one is all labradrorites. One is a mix of blues and greens that has green garnets (demantoids, mints, tsavorites), plus alex, chrysoberyl, blue tourmaline, silver. The other multi colored necklace has a TON of different gems - peridot, emerald, ruby, moonstone, pearl, iolite, aquamarine, citrine, amethyst, jade, and on and on and on... Another is a short choker length jade with silver. Jade green with opal pendant on it.

These are just posted for fun, I love seeing all of these crazy long beaded necklaces with tiny little beads! I have a few more but these are the ones I wear the most. If anyone feels like posting their own pics please do, I enjoy seeing them and getting ideas for future projects

I always look at their beads but never went further than that.

The welos look amazing and give the necklace a very different look. With it this long, the necklace is meant to be worn wrapped around twice?

Oooh, those are some juicy spinel beads. I need to bookmark that site, thanks Chrono.

I like my necklaces long so that I have the option of wrapping it twice or wearing it long. I do that with all of them, and I have extenders so that I can make them just the right length. Sometimes I'll double it but keep one wrap choker style, and the rest worn long down the front - I know there's a name for wearing it that way but I can't think of it. The extenders make it easy to get that look perfect. I'm all about versatility with my beaded necklaces. I only own the one short length (the jade) bc I feel constricted having only short length necklaces. It's probably a psychological thing, lol. I just love having the choice to make them long or short.

Thank you for taking the time to share your selection of beads katharath. Lovely mix of pretty colors. My absolute favorite strand is your new Mahenge with the opals and silver beads. Love the pink of the spinels. Wear them in good health!

Very cool beads! I also really love the opal pendant.

I've been dreaming of a torsade of welo opal beads with some sapphire and emerald beads and pearls mixed in. Probably way too much but sounds so luxurious!

Rosebloom, that sounds gorgeous...if you do it, please post some pics. That's why I love the long beaded necklaces - they do feel luxurious! Especially when you use the more precious gems, as you described doing.

And thanks for the compliments I have been splurging lately with beads and I just had the other opal set, it's been fun!
