...and I must say Graff is probably the most amazing jewelry store I have ever visited. I mean W

W!!!

Harry Winston was more subdued, they didn''t have as much bling displayed as Graff, but the sales staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. I tried on a lovely 5.5ct Emerald Cut ring with baguettes, E color, VVS2 at HW... any guesses how much?

Graff really blew me away... it was sheer paradise.... every piece just a work of art.

Just thought I would share, as I was walking on air!

Impressive stones, huh? I don''t care for the Graff here (maybe it''s the staff), but I had a great time in the Bal Harbour one.

I love the Graff on Oak Street! Randall is my favorite sales person there. I think he has as much fun playing with the bling as I do!

HI Harriet & Dee*Jay!!

Dee*Jay, is Randall British? I didn''t catch the name of the person helping us -- but he was really nice. I thought the sales people at both places would be "icy" -- but I was pleasantly surprised how warm and friendly they were. Maybe since it was a slow Wednesday, they were bored

Hi Skippy -- I bet you guys had a blast...
It was a great day...and DH was such a good sport about going to the stores with me!

ilovewhitediamonds, nope, Randall''s not a Brit. It''s probably a good thing too because that accent gets me every time so if he was British all he''d have to do is suggest something to me and I''d be pulling out the American Express card LOL.

Skippy, I still dream about that 5 ct yellow cushion that Randall offered to have taken out of that necklace and made into a pendant for me! YUM!

I''ve also dragged Mrs. S. and her sister in, and well as Ellen when she came to Chicago on the "axe murderer" trip.

Hmmmm... now that I think about it I seem to spend a lot of time in there!

eta: ahhh, that is always sweet when the DH goes with us to look at diamonds

LOL Skippy -- it's actualy on Jan. 1 of next year (we were just in Vegas for a random long weekend). But I am thinking of letting my husband have the honor of footing the bill on something *special* (translation: blingy!) so he can properly thank me for the 10 best years of his life!

Dee*Jay -- too funny about the accent -- I feel the same way!! That British accent is just hypnotizing! I think a yellow cushion would make an excellent 10 year anni present!!

Skippy -- I really loved the 5.5 Emerald at HW -- but what an inflated price-tag.. I looked up some loose stones on PS in that size, little lower color and clarity and found some 1/2 the price and less.... what a mark up!

I just love Chi-town, what a vibrant, beautiful city... we had such a nice time.

I dragged my DH to see George Michael at the United Center

and we just flew in and out the next day....it was so fun

Im sure that HW didnt have as much bling on display as Graff...The HW family(the two brothers)have been legally fighting since the death of their father and all the bad news coverage and poor business decisions have given other companies more leverage and a place in the spotlight...Graff has really been a strong name in the news(on the cover of a few major magizines like Fortune)and in the jewelry trade the last few years,so their store stock refects their current success.Their website shows some unbelieveable jewels!
