WF ACA - Would you return?

Do you have side by side from before and after? Would love to see if they touched the issue?

So what changed? What do they consider they have changed?

I outlined this in my (admittedly lengthy) original post, but the two main things we wanted addressing are:
  • Metal clasps at the bottom of each side stone were flat and uneven, compared to the product
  • The side stones to appear even
I expressed to them that the side stones were the main concern. The metal clasps look better now but the side stones appear to have remained untouched.

When communicating with vendors remotely I find it helpful to send annotated images circling the problem areas and clearly articulating what is wrong.

Yeah, I sent them exactly the images that are in the OP of this thread and described what I saw in the photos, and what I expected to see.

They have responded positively and said they will get their production manager to have a look and get back to me.

Using paint to annotate the image is clearer and more efficient, that’s my point, because multiple people will be addressing this issue and people vary in their ability to read a bunch of text and look at a photo and correlate the two. Since they missed the most glaring issue the first time around, I’m just pointing out for future readers a more efficient way of communicating remotely with vendors based on my experience. Less written words and more annotated images = better for everyone.

Update:

Whiteflash's production manager emailed me and said that he and their master jeweller are both confident that this is as close to perfect as they can get it, including this photo:

John-Rogers-RA-24538-Valoria-Tapered-Baguette-3-Stone-Engagement-Ring-in-Platinum-from-Whitefl...jpg

It still looks like the right side stone is not symmetrical when compared to the one on the left, but it sounds like this is all they can do. I enquired about whether they should switch the right side stone out before their response but it's sounding like they are unwilling to do so (by omission - they didn't mention whether they are willing to swap it out).

Maybe the depth of the stone on the right is not as deep so doesn’t sit up as high in the setting? Did they source those side stones for you?

What do you mean by that? We chose the centre diamond and the setting is also from them that included the two side stones.

I think it looks as close to perfect as humanly possible, given the miniscule differences in things like the two side stones - bear in mind that any variances are likely single digit millimeters and only appear pronounced due to the very focused nature of the photographs that Whiteflash has carefully taken and provided in the pursuit to be as transparent as possible.
However, your eyes and heart are what you need to listen to above all else...you are the one exchanging your money for this ring, not any of us.

I thought that you might have bought the side stones separately. The setting was obviously preset with those diamonds if you bought the setting from Whiteflash. That means that Whiteflash didn’t set the sidestones and probably can’t adjust them either. Would you be interested in choosing another setting?

Do you know if they make the setting for you or if it’s a pre made setting that they resell and they whack in the centre stone?

If you’re not completely happy with it, maybe you can just buy the centre stone and buy a pre made setting here in Australia. If you’re in Sydney, the Chinatown jewellery shops have heaps of settings. I’ve bought plenty for my coloured stones. They also had to do heavy modifications for my bestie’s Spess and it looks great.

This is most likely a preset mounting from a casting company like Stuller or similar. It would not make sense to make a design like this in house. I could be wrong. But it would explain the slight asymmetry.

@j1nx Is there any update to your ring? Hopefully, you were able to get it all sorted out!

Maybe it's me, but the right side diamond looks a tad shorter

Similar to Dejawiz, I think the magnification is making you see things that you will not see under typical viewing circumstances. It’s a beautiful ring. That said it’s your ring and you have to be happy with it.
