What am I missing? Kashmir Sapphire under consideration

Absolutely stunning. Congrats on your very special acquisition

...Not sure, but it was on 1st Dibs

Ah -- makes sense. I used to spend some time there but gave up. Our one small test purchase for jewelry was misrepresented. It is almost like IG in that every image is "face-tuned" to perfection. You, of course, did well with your purchase -- hard for me to tell what really looks like what on there.

Did buy a painting there (of all things) that we love!

Gorgeous ring, @Mkrsz1ppy !! That sapphire is wow, amazing!! Such a beautiful setting too! Very happy you secured it and you love it!! Congrats!!

It's incredible! I'm so happy for you! :kiss2:

I'm a wee bit peeved about all the people from here inquiring about it. That's just crap.

Wear your new beauty with a huge smile - you have a dream ring!

It is spendid! I’m so glad you got it. And please please please get us some more blingporn!!

Well, one with this exact color pure almost neon Blue is on my wishlist for sure. Not easy to find. Like you I too am only interested in no heat sapphires and Wow Kashmir to boot! Huge, huge congrats!!! I loved it from the beginning and looks waaay nicer in your photos!!!

What an ahh-mazing color!! Thank you for sharing both your beautiful new ring and reminding us of lurkers!
So happy you nabbed it before anyone else! It was meant to be! It’s spectacular!!

OP sometimes following your instincts is right on the money. Reality is, you have to love it (I'm very glad you do)

if I have "that feeling" about a stone, no one gets to see so much as a picture until I secure the purchase. Its always been that way around here.

But I have posted for "the lurkers" :oops2:  Keeps me from buying things I really shouldn't.

Gorgeous color and the setting is just perfect!

Your sapphire ring is just incredible! I love the color of the sapphire and the setting! Great advice to put something on hold before posting it!

It's too late to give you this advice, but for others here, if you see something you like on 1st Dibs, try to look at the vendor's other photos and figure out who is selling the piece. 1st Dibs charges a 25% fee (the last I heard) for sales of pieces listed, so if you go directly to the jeweler selling the piece, there is more room for them to negotiate on price. You get the benefit of a lower price as opposed to paying more for 1st Dibs to get a cut. One thing I do if I can't recognize the vendor from their listings is to look up one or two of their items either on google search or ebay to see if the items are listed elsewhere which will help identify the seller.

Thank you for sharing your lovely ring! Really quite special an so very happy you love it! Please be sure to insure this ring and enjoy! Wishing you good health!

Great stone. I knew it would be a keeper!

OMG--stunning!!!
More photos, please!

Gorgeous color and the setting is just perfect!

You’re right! My local Jeweler said the ring has no wear points, no sizing marks. She suggested it could have sat in a safety deposit box. I love the setting, too, and that it is an 8, my size. I also am happy it is not a big stone...1.76 cts, so I feel ok wearing it.
thank you for your kind comment.

Good to know. I love the idea of posting for the lurkers.

I think that’s an excellent idea. I can go directly to this estate seller now, but that’s a great idea. 25% is a whopper of a commission.

What a sparkly Blue dream for original poster, sort of surprised at ps lurkers but also like that Arcadian shares stones she needs to remove from temptation. Thanks for sharing!!

This is an amazing ring. I love that the setting and stone are made for each other, perfectly enhancing! What an incredible sapphire, with history and the romance of thinking about where it has been, who it was with and where it has traveled.

Turns my stomach that people on PS would try to steal it out from under you, your’s is a heads up worth heeding.

Enjoy this absolute treasure.

Enjoy! It’s beautiful!

Wonderful find - so happy for you. More pics, please:-). Disappointing about the lurkers - so glad that it didn’t affect your purchase in any way.

Gorgeous ring! The color is amazing. Congratulations!

When I was checking out my new to me ruby today, I showed my sapphire to the seller. He drooled, had to make sure everyone working for him saw it, and declared it the finest sapphire in Ireland!F9D69A80-057E-4B78-846B-0C5E089C4EED.jpeg

I love the little green heart! Is it emerald?
