What an emotional weekend!

We just got home from the jeweler store! I cried the whole time- I can deffinately see why men do this alone. We had such a great experience! We visited a store that E''s Uncle uses for all his jewelery and suggested to us and I can''t even express just how gracious they were to us!


After the jewelery store, we visited my Mom on the way home. Ironically, her boyfriend purposed to her last night- we both were purposed to in the same week! Crazy!

For those of you still waiting- It''s SO worth it. I couldn''t have never guessed the complexity of emotions and excitment involved in a huge decision like this!

Sorry ya''all. I sould have known better!

I don''t have anything to show yet, but will probably by the end of next week. We''re pretty sure that we''re going to use a .75 RB heirloom diamond that is at least 100 years old and I''ll be the 4th generation to wear it! It was my FI''s grandfather''s Aunts and she didn''t did have any children and so left everything to him. He died 3 years ago at the age of 92. He gave the diamond to my FFIL to give to my FMIL (30 years ago) and she still has it. I''ve yet to even see it- so I''m not sure what we are going to decide yet. No matter what, I would be proud to have such a family treasure in my ring.

Ok, for the setting I picked out. I tried on a TON of things and my heart is set on a simple setting. It''s White Gold, with 2 shared prong dimonds on either side of the center stone. Without the center stone the setting is a .50 tcw. There is a matching wedding band that goes with that is about the same only with 5 diamonds that line up perfectly with the ones on the engagment ring. When I tried it on yesterday they put a .75 in the setting for me and I tired them both on together and I was completely blinded!- 1/2 by the bling and 1/2 by my tears. I think eventually I''ll get two of the same wedding bands- one for each side to balance it out. I haven''t been able to stop thinking about it! I think I even had a dream about it.

My FI just left to go tell his Mom of our good new! So hopefully when he gets home he''ll have the heirloom for me to see! I''m just so nervous! I know she''ll be cool with it all, but I''m still really nervous!
