What are the advantages/disadvantages of a full eternity ring?

There’s talk of having to baby eternities and fear if the diamonds cracking. Could I ask why we should fear cracking the hardest substance on earth? I know that catching the girdle just the right way can chip a diamond but in this case we’re talking about the table where the girdle’s are quite protected. Is this really a legit concern?

I have noticed the longer I wear diamonds the more I have begun to worry about damaging them. Is this just the pricescope effect or should I be treating my diamonds better?

A diamond’s ‘hardness’ relates only to how easy it is to scratch. It doesn’t relate to how easily it can crack, chip, cleave in half. So it’s true that nothing can scratch diamond other than diamond, but a whack of your hand on a counter-top at the wrong angle could easily chip or crack a stone.

So I posted a thread a few weeks ago Bc I have 3 gorgeous diamond bands in settings that I don’t like. I was contemplating making an eternity with alternating size stones. Until Hubby pointed out that I would be “sacrificing” a lot of good stones Bc I would only view some of them, the rest would be out of my view. Practical hubby. I’m stil contemplating it Bc I do love the luxurious feel of an eternity. So that’s where I am. And don’t even get me started on the setting Bc that is a whole other puzzle I can’t figure out since I haven’t met an eternity that I don’t love. I think that I love the idea of an eternity more than anything. Lol

I only wear half eternities and don’t have a problem with them spinning. I have a full eternity that is now too small so I can’t wear it anymore:(2 and I damaged another full on the underside. :cry2:

I prefer 1/2 to 3/4 eternity.
I don't like the extra time it takes to clean my full eternity. I also have to be extra careful when wearing it. Don't want to chip any stones. ;)2

I know, that's the smart thing to do, haha. But sometimes I'm like - did I JUST reach into this oily pot with my ring on? DAMNIT!

I think the problem isn't the rings, it's the person wearing them LOL
FOOD service gloves!! I use them constantly! Food is not a thing that I get on my hands and rings anymore lol

I have to say though that I have a lot of bands that are not eternities that I like to stack. Most of them drive me crazy especially when I wear three rings together. Today I’m wearing my pave band and my stacker on either side of my ER and they are driving me crazy. I think the trick is to make sure they fit snugly..I get one size for my stacking bands and if I wear them on my right hand they don’t spin as much..but my left hand ring finger is smaller so they spin..:wall:
