Hard to verbalize.
There is that initial WOW factor, and it can be size, setting, sparkle or all three! Something has to catch my eye.
I would tend to say I see size first, and if it is a nice stone or just a big stone. I have certainly had my eyes notice a LARGE stone but on closer sneaky looks it is not nice. So I would say, as my vision gets worse with age sheer size is what I first take in.
Second would then be quality of the stone. Yuck frozen spit at any size in any setting is not pretty.
Third I notice the setting. Metal type, height, side stones. I certainly have my favorite styles and looks, but can appreciate something different, especially if it looks great on the lady''s hand. A total picture, does not have to be my personal taste for me to like it on someone else.
