Wow...fun question...let me think it''s been awhile.

Remember those shirts that changed color to your body temp? Those were sort of cool.

Pegged pants
Neon colors - althought I can''t remember if this was HS or Middle School.

I was in HS from 86-90

so think 80''s fashion and that I was pretty much it.

plaid flannel shirt tied around your waist
jansport backpack
no socks

(I graduated HS in '99)

DF, you ask the most thought-provoking questions, lol! When I was in high school, it was Guess jeans, Jansport backpacks, a car, and CD''s. That''s all I remember actually paying attention to...Guess jeans stand out in my mind because you could always see that little triangular shaped label when you were behind someone. I bought ONE pair and they fell apart after the second washing!

Definitely Guess Jeans. Even had a pair with zippers up the sides by my ankle. Man that takes me back, haha.

High school ... (81-85)

*thin rubber bracelets (that silly Madonna)
*The Limited Forenza super deep V neck sweaters ($19 a piece, in every color, worn with men's tank undershirts --I'd calculate earnings based on how many of them I could buy)
*denim jackets
*Benetton furry sweaters in wacky patterns

(Our school had a uniform - so I'm not as up on "hip" bottoms from that era -- as I was mostly in kilts & pinstriped Lee jeans
23.gif
)

ETA: wait, wait!!! lace-up Little House on the Praire style ankle boots. Remember those?

I wore a uniform too deco. We wore plaid kilts and wore them as short as possible, hehe. Was the only way we could have any fun. Now my daughter is wearing the same uniform. She hates it.

HA! Well U Penn isn''t too far off now, right? No pain, no PENN!

Haha, yup she''s counting down the days. I think she''ll end up burning her uniforms, hehe.

I graduated in 2002, so that wasn't so long ago...

The must-haves were cellphone, pagers, that sort of thing. Parasucco jeans, and other expensive clothes, Northface winter coats, the works. VERY low jeans, tight and short tops

I certainly don't miss HS...

LL bean backpacks for me too. flannal shirts from J.crew in LARGE

, college sweatshirts, jeans with holes in the knees, coach purses.

Guess jeans for me too (1989 HS graduate). I remember tucking my jeans into my socks and wearing them with the lace-up booties.

I remember one year everything "Coke" was in. Kids had shirts that were red & white--often striped with the Coke logo on them.

You also had to have "big hair" with bangs then went up then out as well as spiral perms. I permed my long hair for graduation and looked like a darn poodle.

Banana clips for hair...sort of like a pony tail only the clipped along they whole back of your head vertically. Of course you still had to have the poofy bangs.

Turtlenecks worn under sweaters or sweatshirts.

Big hoop earrings...usually gold colored.

Leggings or Mini-skirts with baggy sweaters. Stirrup pants were in at the beginning of my HS years.

Bermuda bags w/ interchangable covers.

& jumpsuits

We were all about the pocket protectors, graphing calculators, and letter jackets for band. Anybody who was anybody had those.

walkman

clothes: never did care about them much, blue jeans and black t-shirts and a camo coat in the winter.
Still have the coat and wear it for chores outside.

college: same except for a blue uniform style coat

Now: pretty much the same LOL as college including the same coat.

sheesh I need to buy a new coat lol... have had the one 20 years and the other 16 years.
Did I mention I dont like change?

oh yes....polyester shirts and the biggest mag wheels that would fit on my car.

Hey Island, I also graduated in 89! I used to go through a can of aquanet every two days, no joke. My poor moms bathrom

Had to have a car, or at least have freinds with cars.

it would have been nice if we had computers in those
days to make class go by faster.

Its fun to read through what was "in" when we were all in HS.
It hasn''t been too long for me, graduated in 2000.

I cant really remember the guys fashions....but for girls, we had to have Kate Spade Sam bags, lots of Michael Stars shirts, tight black pants, T&Co heart tag bracelets, North Face Fleeces. There was a brand of jeans, Energie, I think, that was really popular and I remember my mom wouldn''t let me get them because they were $100. Mavi''s were quite popular, I lived in Mavi "Molly" jeans. Gap, Adidas. Steve Madden chunky black shoes! Flared jeans. Delias was really popular the first 2 years. North Face fleeces.

That''s all I can really remember.

I graduated from HS is 2001. The must have items were:
-computer with internet access in your room, had to be able to talk online all night this was my AIM SN then and still is
-car that cost too much (my SLK was not impressive),
-knee high leather boots
-Discman
-Cell phone
-North Face Denali fleece
-addias exercise clothes for PE
-LV bags (I was given one my senior year and still feel like I am not old enough to carry it even though nearly everyone I see on campus has at least one LV bag. I don’t like things where you know the brand at a glance, makes me feel odd.)
-A&F Jeans
-Tiffany’s Heart charm bracelet (I had the circle…hearts were cheesy.)
-RL Pony Polos
