What are you wearing today? Pearl edition!

While waiting for my big girl pearls to arrive from Takahashi :mrgreen2: , I'm wearing my simple set of freshwater pearls from Tiffany's Ziegfeld collection. I've had this set for over a decade and have not worn the necklace in years. I only like it layered now, a pretty touch.

Reminds me of SJP on the reboot! Very trendy to layer like that!

Bad me ! :lol-2: :boohoo: :angryfire: :lol-2: :lol-2:
I should have pearls on
Its finally been raining and today its dropped about 10 degrees from yesterday and Borris might even want her nightie tonight (a piece of well washed flanel that was a garage rag that came inside to be washed and never went back)
Anyway anyway maybe my fun carnival strand should come out for a play as
hopefully getting covid booster tomorrow so that will be a trip into town for them
And tonight it might even be cool enough to sleep inside the actual bed not just on top

Bit of a panic
Can't find my fun carnival strand
Its here somewhere
we have terrible lighting in the bedrooms in this house
Its like its still 1959

Anyway have dug out the white freshies from the mall i got originally to make the daisy necklace but then desided the pearls arnt nearly nice enough so im thinking about throwing my black costume cameo on it
anyway in the dim late 1950s lighting they don't seem so bad tonight :lol-2: :lol-2:

Yes, she wears lots of great pearl combos! I was watching the finale last night and screenshot my favorite look: big gold necklace, pearl studs, high ponytail and rose dress.

Goodness
I don't have the right brand of pay tv to watch it but she looks rather lovelly
much nicer than i imagined after reading all the reviews floating around

Its hot but im going out with my 'daisy necklaces rejects' on :lol-2:
Am off to the jewler with a wee bunch of repairs but also my pink baroque multi strand from the mall jewler needs its baroque strand re-strung so im going to try out their pearl stringing lady
It totally illustrates the security of individual knots and i was able to find the one end pearl that fell onto the floor or rather down my top :lol-2:
i'd rather not have to go through a 3rd party for restringing but the lady i wanted to use is still snowed under with work

A while ago Andrew, Elizabeth and Jane sent me a lovelly pearl care package :kiss2: and it included a box of odds and ends for projects or what ever :kiss2:
Im using an odd earing that has 3 baroque pearls to give extra length to the strand :appl:
So thank you again =)2

That size looks great on you.

Thank you
i keep thinking about PSS with regard to future purchases and i knew i was wrong to think they looked a bit big :lol-2:

Im going to lower the tone of this thread im afraid
Down down down to like a bit of cheap fluff from a cheap market

they are real pearls just el cheapo dyed freshies
And im not complaining because they were dirt cheap off trade me (NZ ebay)

But i wish they were made better
Its peridot and amethyst chip beads too
the wire work is pretty sloppy
but its soooooo pretty

Maybe i could stitch it onto a top ? carefully undoing the wire so i know how to sew it back up ?
Because of course its too tight anyway for around my fat neck
Maybe i could stitch it onto black valvet ribbon ?
You know because as if i don't have enough half finished projects on the go already....
Actually its not wire, its metallic thread
Maybe i could stitch in onto something

anyway please excuse my lowering of the tone down to basically costume jewlery

Ideas ?

It’s very pretty! I love the colors. I think it would look at home as an embellishment on the neckline or collar of a top. If you like holiday decorations you could rearrange the elements into a framed tree or wreath (kind of like the brooch tree DIYs from Pinterest).

That's a trip down pearl memory lane. Very hard to find deep dyed pearls like that now, and those tadpole-y ones are the first attempts at freshwater bead nucleation.
It's really pretty.

Today - mobile phone camera colours are off though. I always look like I have a double chin when I take these selfies :cry2: Any tips?9D1878B7-E04B-4268-B7B8-094535886959.jpeg
You and your pearls are gorgeous!

Take a selfie with the phone higher up, like where it would be if the sun was gazing down on you in the morning haha (making you tilt your chin up a bit)

Then crop the photo to only show chin and pearls or whatever you like

I know it doesn't really belong on this forum so i appreciate the kindness
But i found it just so pretty i had to shear

Wearing the present by FIL gave me a few weeks after Gary's mum died
i was very touched that he had taken the time.
Just dyed ones - Blossom passed away in 2004, but i love the colour
Anyway wearing them because its been ages since i wore earings (because of mask mandate) and the thin wire didn't hurt and they went in easy
I on a bit of a green kick today
Excuse lack of neck/ chin :boohoo: 20220210_145046.jpg

Pearls with my puffer coat. My blue Akoya drops are so versatile!
